Andrade

In case you missed the PLE last night Nickolye has complete Survivor Series: WarGames coverage for you right here on MarksOfWrestling. Thanks Nick!

Via social media Andrade El Idolo is beefing with Dave Meltzer again over a report that he MAY HAVE (emphasis on may have) signed a new contract with All Elite Wrestling: “I didn’t sign any contract! Sir, you say it with such certainty, that I signed a contract, when that’s just another one of your lies. Do some more research, Sir. I was in negotiations to sign because Mr. Tony Khan and the AEW team were having good discussions, and we came to an excellent agreement. I’m especially grateful to TK and AEW in general. Then, I received a non-compete clause after my AEW debut and my first match in Tijuana (The Crash), but I want to clarify that I didn’t know if that was the issue with WWE (honestly, I don’t know the answer to that).”

By the way, in my opinion, the same people who complain about Dave Meltzer are the ones who are making him the topic in pro wrestling instead of the matches and the wrestlers. If someone gets a fact wrong they should be notified, they should verify it, and if true they should update their reporting. Let’s face it though reporters are fed erroneous facts all the time and wrestling reporters doubly so, so mistakes are going to happen because they’re baked into the process. When you complain about someone stating a THEORY, not a fact, you are going out on a limb without a tree behind you.

Jushin Liger came out of retirement to face Joey Janela at WrestleCade this weekend.

The reported reason USA Network wants SmackDown to go back to three hours in January is to boost their overall ratings; and even if the show itself might do a slight decrease because of the length, USA believes it will be offset by the lack of competition from college football on Fridays. (WO)

On his latest podcast Jim Ross disputed the allegation by Bret Hart that Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon were more than just wrestler and promoter: “That’s bullshit. Shawn in that era, at that point in that time, he was in a different mindset. He was a different guy. I don’t think he believes what he just said. I think he just stirred (crap up). Yeah, and like I said earlier, Bret knows what buttons to push.”
