In a recent vlog Matt Jackson said the Young Bucks would buy Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) if it was for sale: “Me and Nick have talked about a lot of things. We’ve talked about buying PWG. Starting our own indie. A wrestling school. In the next few years, if we’re going to do something, it’ll probably happen in the next few years. Let me clarify, I don’t know if PWG is for sale. If it was for sale, I would make an offer.” That’s a hell of a coincidence since I was just thinking about PWG yesterday and wondering whatever happened to them. For a long time they were the pinnacle of indie promotions, and the first place I ever saw the likes of Kevin Owens (then Kevin Steen) and Candice LeRae wrestle live on a trip to California.

Bushiroad (the parent company of NJPW and STARDOM) CEO Takaaki Kidani said the second half of 2025 is looking good. Here are some translated notes: “Regarding sports, he assumes that a generational change is taking place in New Japan Pro Wrestling, with young wrestlers becoming active, while veterans are also being activated, and will be in good shape from spring to summer. He also expects the further rise of young wrestlers in the final road to President Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement. On the other hand, he said that STARDOM has not lost momentum despite the retirements and resignations of prominent players, but rather has been able to increase its momentum. Both New Japan Pro Wrestling and STARDOM were in a transitional period, but he expressed the expectation that the second half of this year would be quite promising.”
