Will Ospreay

After Will Ospreay was stretchered out at Forbidden Door, presumably so he can have time off to get surgery, Ospreay expressed his appreciation to the fans: “I genuinely have no words. Thank you so much for every little bit of support. Love you guys so much.”

There was also an injury angle for Swerve Strickland, which will reportedly get him time off for surgery on a meniscus tear this week — one he’s been working in the ring with since 2019.

Dominik Mysterio will have a title defense on Raw next week. Here’s the current card. (WWE)

Lyra Valkyria talks about her feud with Becky Lynch: “It has been an incredible few months. Now I’m looking back on my reign as IC Champion for the first time and everything that has happened with Becky and Bayley over the last few months. I now have this really cool catalog of matches. I’m creating this body of work that I’m really proud of. I’ll tell people all the time when I first started watching WWE, I used to fast forward the matches to get to the winner and what happened at the end. What they said to each other. I’ve always had an appreciation for that side of it. To get to now do more of that and do it against people I looked up to and made me want to do this has been amazing.”

Toru Yano is transitioning from his in-ring role in New Japan to a more active backstage role including taking a hand as an agent and in booking angles. He’s not replacing Gedo but he’s reportedly rising up the ranks quickly. (FF)

Speaking of Raw, several episodes on Netflix next month are moving to an earlier start time of 7 PM ET, 6 Central. This is presumed to be so they can avoid going head to head with the NFL. They’ll return to the normal 8 PM ET start time on October 6th, but the very next week they’ll be live at 8 AM ET from Perth, Australia. (WO)

More fallout from Raja Jackson’s assault on Syko Stu — KNOKX Pro Wrestling has been removed from WWE’s recruiting website. They were previously a partner in the WWE ID program but removed WWE ID branding from all of their social media accounts, presumably at WWE’s insistence. The logo still remains on the KNOKX Pro website though (for now).

Here’s the updated lineup for NXT tonight. (WWE)

  • Fatal Influence vs. Lola Vice, Zaria & Sol Ruca

Raquel Rodriguez talks about her match with Rhea Ripley at Night of Champions: “I’m always proud of the work I get to do with Rhea, just from the long relationship we’ve had as wrestlers, coworkers, friends, and tag team partners turned enemies. Every single time that we get an opportunity to work together, I think we both know that there’s pressure to level up from the matches that we’ve had previously. It was definitely hard to think of stuff, especially being in a foreign country where women, we’re not allowed to do too much. We were very contained, but for what we had on that day and what we were able to come up with, I could not be prouder of a more epic street fight with her.”

Not sure what he’s thinking by saying this but RVD says he’s got Raja Jackson’s back. That’s about the worst take I’ve ever seen from Robert Szatkowski. Lay off the weed man.

Speaking of Jackson, the LAPD confirmed they were called to the gym and they filled out a felony battery report and assigned detectives to the case.
