Even though we all know CMLL and AAA have a “don’t wrestle for the competition” rivalry in Mexico, CMLL was “very accommodating” when Tony Khan personally went to Salvador Lutteroth Lomeli at AEW Grand Slam Mexico last night and asked permission for them to use The Beast Mortos. It was a last minute substitution because they were unable to use Cash Wheeler or Claudio Castagnoli. Mortos had not worked for CMLL in 14 years and had two stints in AAA before ultimately winding up in AEW, so he’s considered AAA to anybody who followed his career in Mexico in the last decade and change.
