Here’s a good news/bad news situation coming out of NJPW Dominion. The good news is that Yota Tsuji beat Callum Newman for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The bad news is that something went wrong during the match and Newman suffered a shoulder injury, which he’s expected to get a MRI on shortly to determine the severity. (WO)

On a recent Twitch livestream Rhea Ripley revealed a fan got her personal cell phone number and it unnerved her: “I won’t say how, but someone found my phone number, and they text me the other day, wanting me to see them ’cause they couldn’t buy tickets to SmackDown. It baffles me; it really does. Like there’s no privacy anywhere.”
Pro wrestling fan, MMA commentator and former champion Daniel Cormier ended up in an awkward situation this weekend. He allegedly engaged in a back-and-forth series of tweets with the President’s son Eric where Eric asked if any of the fights were “rigged” or if there were any smart bets to make i.e. insider information about injury. As one would expect from the real DC, he replied that he was shocked and appalled that anyone would ask him that. Then he deleted the tweet. Then Eric claimed that the conversation was an AI fake and that DC deleting it was proof of said fakery. Now DC himself claims he was “hacked” and that “nobody should believe that.” James Romero has coverage of all of this. For what it’s worth I believe the simplest explanation is the right one. Would a family of dishonest corrupt people look for insider information on fights, even though they’re already obscenely rich to begin with? Of course. Would a former world champion who has had to deal with people who took performance enhancing drugs and tried to rig their fights with him be appalled anybody asked him if UFC rigs fights and if so could they give him a few tips? Absolutely. He’d be pissed and rightly so. Would both the party who asked (since it’s a very bad look) and the party who was appalled (since his employer Dana White is friends with the President) want to try to make it all quietly go away? Of course they would.
