I’m sad to report Beyond the Mat filmmaker Barry Blaustein has passed away at 72 years old. My condolences to all of his friends, family and fans. His name touched a lot of bases in entertainment from being a writer for Saturday Night Live to co-writing Coming to America with David Sheffield, just to name two of his many accomplishments. Vince McMahon famously hated him though and even threatened to sue any movie theater that showed Beyond the Mat.

Mason Rook “signed his contract” on last night’s NXT. Just as a refresher, his real name is William Walker, and he wrestled independently in Europe as Will Kroos. He certainly cuts a figure at 6’4″ and nearly 300 pounds, and has already gotten John Cena to put over his catchphrase.
Collision on Saturday did 0.05 and 430,000 viewers. SmackDown last Friday did a 0.29 and 1.279 million viewers. (PI)
MLW has reportedly signed independent wrestler Jay Bishop to a deal. (FF)

The late Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea’s accountant Melissia Gauthreaux has been charged with six counts of wire fraud. Bollea was not named in the charges against her but the coincidence of being described as “a public figure who lived in the Middle District of Florida” caused people to put two and two together. I think we all know by now that I’m no fan of Bollea, but I still feel bad for him learning that this woman embezzled close to a million ($890,000) of his money while he was still alive.
Stephanie Vaquer’s ex-partner Cuatrero has been sentenced to twelve years in prison for domestic assault and attempted femicide of her. He’s been behind bars for two years already during his trial and that counts toward his sentence, so he’s got a decade yet to serve.
