On the most recent episode of his podcast with Jon Alba, Matt Hardy explained what a Broken Rules match is for newcomers to the gimmick: “A Broken Rules match is basically a match with no rules. Anything goes, anything can be used, we can fight all over the building. The standard rules in a pro wrestling match are broken.” He and Jeff Hardy will face DarkState in just such a match at NXT Halloween Havoc this Saturday at the Findlay Toyota Center — and Matt did confirm the match will be IN THE ARENA and not a “cinematic match.”
