Hulk Hogan

TMZ reports that Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) passed away this morning at 71 years old. Emergency medical assistance was dispatched to his home following a reported cardiac arrest but they were unable to revive him. My condolences to his family, friends and fans around the world. Regardless of how you feel about his politics or past incidents of racism, it’s impossible to ignore how iconic of a wrestling superstar he was for multiple decades, nor discredit the amount of people who were able to make a good living because of his popularity. He was in the best (and some might say worst) ways a once in a generation superstar. We’ll have more to say on the AMP Podcast tonight.

From WWE: “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Will Ospreay is going to be out of action for a while. Ospreay announced on Dynamite that he has two herniated discs in his C2 and C6 going into his spinal cord, but with the right treatment, he hopes to be back for Forbidden Door on August 25th.

If MJF’s time with Hurt Syndicate isn’t already over it soon will be. On Dynamite last night he took took umbrage at them being hired by Cope (Adam Copeland) to take out FTR, yet not being there for him when he confronted Hangman Page. Bobby Lashley snapped and started choking MJF, saying he wanted him out of the group, then he walked off along with Shelton Benjamin and MVP.

Speaking of MJF he’s challenging Averno for the CMLL Light Heavyweight Title on August 1st.

Former WWE and American Ninja Warrior star Kacy Catanzaro (Katana Chance) announced her engagement on Tuesday. Congratulations!

Undertaker has a few more things to say to Trick Williams: “Last night wasn’t your night Trick Williams, but the future is there for your taking. It was a pleasure sharing the ring with you, now go get yours young man… just leave my LFG team alone!”

CM Punk says he likes flying blind: “I want complete chaos if I’m wrestling you. I would rather not see you all day… when I’m in the ring, I’m not an actor. I’m a reactor. I’m reacting to you. I’m reacting to the referee and I’m reacting to the people. And too often times I feel like we get in our own, I’m stepping on my own dick here when you know we’re mapping all this stuff out. It makes me more nervous like the more I talk about it and the more planned out things are. I need stuff to be a little bit loose and a little bit Helter Skelter and then I’m in the pocket.”

Cody Rhodes says he’s looking out for Sami Zayn’s son: “I like to, now, kind of try to be the lead of the nepo babies. I literally will tell Sami’s son when he’s at TV, I’ll get down on a knee and be like, ‘Hey man, it’s gonna be different for you. You’re right in, private jet buddy.’ Sami, I can tell he’s like, ‘Don’t tell him that.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, bro, right away, you’re gonna have tons of heat in the locker room. Who cares? Who cares?’ I like to look out for a nepo baby. They don’t always turn out great.”

Paul Heyman says New Jack being in WWE 2K25 is a moment of completion: “This is a moment of completion in the entire video game industry. You cannot deny New Jack’s influence in sports entertainment/pro wrestling culture, nor should you deny his influence on video games. Most of the people that are writing the codes that then become the video games were ECW or WWE fans, and I mean, are you telling me that those who make Grand Theft Auto weren’t influenced by New Jack? Come on! Oh my God! What a fantastic idea to pay tribute to someone that has been such an influence on not only the culture of pro wrestling, but on the culture of video games, because of the influence that we’ve had on those who write the games.”

This week’s NXT did 747,000 viewers, up from 586K last week. The 18-49 demo also rose from 0.12 to 0.16. (PI)

Filthy Tom Lawlor has confirmed he needs hip surgery. (WO)

Eric Bischoff sounds like he’s bitter when he talks shit about AEW Dynamite having more episodes than WCW Nitro: “I just chuckled. It’s like a participation trophy. I guess it matters to somebody. If you took all of the viewing audience that we had over whatever run Nitro had, I think it would take AEW another 15 years to deliver that audience at the rate they are going.”

Colten Gunn’s injury means The Gunns are out of the AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament. (FF)

Hangman Page will give Jon Moxley a world title rematch on Dynamite next week with “everyone banned from ringside.” (AEW)

Ted DiBiase Jr.’s federal trial has been postponed AGAIN to January 26th, 2026. (PWI) This man will never face justice.

Nikki Bella doesn’t expect to be at SummerSlam: “I’m having so much fun in everything I do. Even at WWE, I’m not always on Raw and that’s okay because I’m just having a lot of fun. I wanted to be on Raw this past week but they didn’t need me so I went to the Happy Gilmore (2) premiere. I’m just happy for whatever I get when I’m there. I love the locker room, I love being a part of things. It’s such a great place to be. Hopefully your girl will be on SummerSlam. I don’t think, but I don’t know, so.”

Bill Goldberg says he broke his hand at SNME: “You can’t really tell but, my hand, I broke my hand, at some point in that match and I think today’s the first day I can see veins back in my hand. It’s not nearly as swollen as it was. That and… shoulder didn’t hurt, neck didn’t hurt. My knee isn’t worse.”
