In this interview MJF talks about his Happy Gilmore 2 experience: “This is my second film. I also got to executive produce The Iron Claw. This film I’d say I for sure have a bigger role in. I loved every second of it. It felt like I was shooting with family. Very rarely do I feel like that in any environment. I don’t know if you realize this about me, but I can be a little bit prickly. I enjoyed being a Gilmore. I felt I will be a Gilmore for the rest of my life. I feel like whatever success that occurs in my career outside of the wrestling bubble I’m going to owe so much to Adam Sandler moving forward. If he ever needs anything, if his family ever needs anything, I would be there at the drop of a dime. I think the best advice came from Adam when I was picking his brain. He just told me to be myself. Whether I’m doing these media rounds or out in public, he told me to be myself. That was lovely to hear because a lot of people don’t really like me very much. I enjoyed that advice.”
In addition MJF says he plans to win the gauntlet at All In and cash in on Jon Moxley: “If Dictator Jon wins, I’m cashing in on him. I have nothing to prove with that guy. I already beat that shmuck at Full Gear in New Jersey. If Hangman wins, bit of a different story. I’m not going to get into it now, but I have a lot of plans and a lot of Plan Bs, Cs, Ds, and Es for whatever is going to occur at the end of the night. The one thing I can assure you is, no matter what, I am winning that Casino Gauntlet.”
The SmackDown on July 4th did a 0.32 and 1.116 million viewers, down from 0.41 and 1.450 million the week before (PI) but entirely understandable given the holiday.
Tony Khan says Mercedes Mone doesn’t have creative control: “That’s definitely not true at all. I would love to talk about that. Mercedes Mone is an incredible talent. I have wanted Mercedes Mone in AEW and she is a big star on the show. I really enjoy working with her backstage as a talent and she has done great things for the company doing media. She’s a great person. Mercedes is a great addition to AEW. I also think it’s ridiculous, the idea that people would think because she’s a strong wrestler on the show that she must be the one dictating that. That is the complete opposite of what happens here. We’ve done a really great job, this year in particular, with a really focused build and we’re on the best run of television we’ve ever had through the past six months in 2025. It’s been a great year for the company. I’m the only person with creative control over the show. At the end of the day, I’m responsible for what you see. I’m really proud this year because this has been one of the best years, six months into the year so far, we’ve ever done of television.”
Charlotte Flair talks about her struggles in the last year: “I think my rock bottom moment was probably sometime last summer, when I was flying around the country for second opinions (Chicago, San Francisco, New York, I went everywhere). Around this same time, I developed tendinitis in my knee from going too hard in my rehab, which of course set my rehab back more. And then also around this same time, I went from trying to save my marriage to facing the fact that I was getting a third divorce. And it’s like each thing just fed into the other. Like: I couldn’t do jumping exercises because of my fertility… but those are exactly the exercises I needed to rehab my knee. Or: It felt like the stress from my fertility had harmed my marriage… but then it felt like the stress from my divorce was now harming my fertility. It was like for an entire year, I just couldn’t win. I was trying so damn hard, at all these things… but it’s like the harder I tried, the worse everything got.”
