Cody Rhodes

In this interview Cody Rhodes talks about his mindset when leaving AEW and coming back to WWE: “In a sense that you have to have a plan for the plan for the next plan, and the road looked like it was heading that way. Also, at the time, I really was torn. One thing was my baby, and something that I’ve very much loved, and was part of its inception and the origin, and was so lucky to have those guys with me be part of that. But then the other is your destiny calling you, fate, and what you do next. That was just a tricky spot to be in, and incredibly, I’m never gonna forget it, Brandi told me, and I almost get choked up thinking about it, but she just said, ‘Be careful what you wish for.’ Then what I wished for, plus a million, came true. But that was a heck of a day.”

Gabe Kidd vs. Josh Barnett is now official for Bloodsport XIII. Speaking of Barnett, he says he thinks the first Bloodsport was terrible: “I flat out said, that initial show, I thought, was terrible. Nobody really knew what they were doing. It didn’t actually embody the thing they were going for, which I didn’t hold it against anyone because nobody in America was training for this kind of thing. Nobody had this background. They could have a combat sports background, but it wasn’t put in this parameter under this concept of shoot-style wrestling. It made sense to me that this would be this way because this is foreign territory, especially in this day and age. My belief was, unless you had somebody like myself, it wasn’t going to work out right. To do that, I had to have the ability to control the product in a way that would allow it to flourish to what we have today.”

This week’s NXT did a 0.17 18-49 demo and 683,000 viewers, up from 0.15 and 650,000 the week before. (PI)

Here’s another new Leon Slater interview.

Alex Hammerstone talks about the end of his TNA run: “At a certain point, perception is reality. So I’m sitting there and from my perception, I felt like the company stopped caring about me and maybe I needed to do something in a different way. Maybe they were looking for something that I wasn’t giving them. But also that was never a conversation that was had. I’d be very happy to be sat down and told, ‘hey, creatively, this is what we want to do. So we need to see more of this out of you.’ And I never got that. It was just like, hey, where are we going creatively? And a lot of times it’s like, well, you know what you’re doing with this guy. You know what you’re doing this that guy, so why don’t you know what you’re doing with me?”

Here’s a behind the scenes for Dark Side of the Ring about Abdullah the Butcher.

Mance Warner and Steph De Lander are now engaged. Congratulations!

Here’s a new travel vlog from Matt Jackson and a new Kevin Knight interview.

Ricochet says you could see hints of his current AEW character in his time on NXT: “I mean, I’ve always tried to tell everybody about what I’m capable of and who, if I can be my true self, who that or what that can be. I think you saw glimpses of it in NXT when I first got there. I think you saw glimpses of the suit. I think you saw glimpses of the promos. I think you saw glimpses of the personality trying to shine through. I think you saw glimpses of it. Then 2019, I just got moved, and then I kind of got stuck in a resident superhero, and I got stuck in a weird position, I guess you would say.”

PAC suffered a foot or ankle injury in a match on Dynamite last night after taking a buckle bomb from Swerve Strickland. He finished the match but had to be helped to the back. (PWI)
