Gunther

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Gunther confirmed he’s signed a new WWE deal: “I signed a new contract and (a tour bus) was part it. I asked for that. What you don’t ask for, you don’t get. (I signed it at the) end of last year. Obviously he’s my boss (Triple H) and I’m in a very good position in the company right now, but I think to a certain degree that he saved professional wrestling to a big degree. I remember when I started in 2005. All the Europeans trying to get into WWE was such a mystery about it. Who to talk to and what to do. It seemed so far away and such an unrealistic point to achieve. Hunter was the one who pushed for opening that world to WWE and created so much jobs and opportunities back then for so many of the European guys.”

Drew McIntyre talks about CM Punk splitting him open with a toolbox: “Yeah, I got hit with a toolbox, come around on my knees, and I remember kind of shaking it off and I went, wow, that hurt. The referee was trying to tell me something, and I was trying to look at him and I couldn’t hear what he was saying. I have a bad hearing as it is, but things were a bit woozy. I saw some blood spurt across the ring, land a bit three feet in front of me, like a faucet. I went, oh, that’s weird. Then I come up straight and it just came right down my face. I went, oh, oh, that’s bad. You don’t have to do anything. Our referee is in communication with backstage. She was in communication with the doctor. So they’re all talking, panicking, and relaying messages exactly what’s going on. Because if they have to, they’ll stop the match, especially in today’s day and age, and knowing what we know about head injuries and the likes, I had to communicate very quickly that my senses were still there. I was still with it. It was just a very bad gash in my head. But initially, I was, oh, no, no, and the lights were getting very bright.”

Kevin Owens signed a Topps trading card in a special way: “There is one that I don’t think anybody has found yet. I just wrote, ‘Don’t follow us at the airport.’ It’s ironic because a lot of people that do that are the ones that want to get the cards signed. Hopefully, they get the message. We love our fans, but when we’re coming off a flight or rushing to get to a building, it’s the last thing we need, to have a meet and greet at baggage claim.”

Will Ospreay says he’s toned it down a bit in AEW: “A little bit, yeah because you can’t do those epic clashes on TV, that much. It’s very rare that you can actually follow through with those epic New Japan-style main events. So you have to pick your spots wisely and now, I feel like I’m really finding my groove at the TV matches. And obviously, when the pay-per-view comes around, I just go balls out, and I hope that people respond well to the matches that I’m trying to put on.”

Sol Ruca punched her ticket to a title shot on the latest WWE Speed.
