Hangman Page

Despite a scary spot where Hangman Page was dropped on his head at WrestleDream and was then out of position for the next one — suggesting he was concussed — the match ended as planned and he was “totally fine” backstage afterward. (WO)

In a short released by Sports Illustrated, Charlotte Flair said her dream celebrity opponent is Serena Williams. Good choice.

Jeff Hardy suffered a bit of a nasty wound at Bound For Glory this year, but in his own words “One week. Eff healing.”

Sarah Stock has an issue with the “drowning” spot at WrestleDream: “You know who should stop this? Mothers. With their remote control. This is worse than the plastic bag over the head. Kids are going to end up dead trying this stuff at home.” Hard to argue with that.

You may have heard recently that WWE hired Senior Director of Creative Strategy Cyrus Kowsari to spearhead WWE’s move into “AI-based storytelling.” A new report from Fightful offers some much needed clarification about that. The short version is that WWE doesn’t plan to replace their creative team with AI. If the shows are currently written by Paul Heyman, Michael Hayes, et cetera they will continue to be. AI will continue to be used by WWE as it has in the past for research purposes — such as finding out the last time to wrestlers had a match against each other. (Let’s hope the databases that AI is scraping from are accurate.) They also plan to use AI to streamline elements of production such as digitally removing things from shots that weren’t supposed to be there or sorting through the numerous amounts of files that are produced each episode. Now in my personal opinion those are still jobs you could be paying a human being to do, and I don’t trust them to not replace writers in the future, but we’ll chalk this one up as “the least worst possible outcome” for now.

Bobby Fish says he’s been dealing with a hamstring injury but he’s not begging for any pity — in fact he says he has plans to launch a YouTube channel so he can make content and share his passions.

Something is going on with ECW founder Tod Gordon. A statement was posted on his social media saying he had been hospitalized, but after several news outlets reported it, that statement was then deleted. Here’s what it said before it was removed: “From the Family of Tod Gordon: We wanted to share that, Tod Gordon, is currently in the hospital and has been for some time. If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back, please know he’s not ignoring anyone – he’s just focusing on his health right now. While he is unable to receive visitors, we appreciate all your love, support, and prayers during this time. Please keep him in your thoughts. Thank you.”

According to a post on the page of Jesus (Ricardo) Rodriguez, Bobby Horne a/k/a Sir Mo has passed away at 57 years old. We noted a little over a week ago that he was in the ICU due to a blood infection, so it’s not surprising to learn he passed, but sad nonetheless. My condolences to his friends, family, fans and peers in the wrestling business.
