Brock Lesnar

As a point of clarification, WWE “clearing” Brock Lesnar to appear on TV doesn’t mean he’s “clear” of any ramifications from Janel Grant’s lawsuit as it exists now or in an amended form. To date he’s only mentioned in it as “a former UFC fighter” but The Wall Street Journal confirmed it was him and Grant’s attorneys said more or less the same in response to seeing Brock Lesnar returning to WWE television this week. Dustin Rhodes needs double knee surgery. Best wishes to him!

The July 28th edition of Raw did 2.7 million views. The debut of Unreal did 2.3 million views. (Netflix)

Dominik Mysterio acknowledges the existence of the term Mr. SummerSlam: “It’s definitely at the top for me, especially because my family and myself have a rich history when it comes to SummerSlam. SummerSlam’s definitely been a special place for the Mysterio Family, but it’s nice that the correct Mysterio and the greatest Mysterio of all time is taking over the mantle now. I don’t want to call myself any names, but I’ve heard Mr. SummerSlam here and there.”

RevPro has announced the return of Global Wars UK the weekend of August 22nd.

Rockin’ Robin talks about her broken foot: “Thank you, everyone, for your concerns but all is ok. I took a bad step down from a ladder which would have likely been no big deal 5 or 10 years ago (lol) but, at nearly 61 yrs. old – and with no shoes on, it took a pretty ugly turn. I basically broke my right foot heel in half! (Yes, the pain is excruciating – I don’t recommend it) I had never missed an event I was booked at in my life but this is why I didn’t/couldn’t make it to Charlotte – and my apologies to you guys who were kind enough to want to come see me. (But, I’m already confirmed for next year so please give it one more try!) I just want to thank everybody for your concerns, prayers and well wishes… and let my friends know I’ll be totally off of my feet for the next 3 months at least. Swelling is the immediate issue. Please keep the prayers coming though, and I’ll do the same! Thanks again and I’m sorry to have startled anyone. Just another one of life’s curve balls – I just used to be able to hit a curve, not ‘get hit’ by them so much.”

Rey Mysterio Jr. will induct Konnan into the AAA Hall of Fame.

Jacob Fatu talks about improving at promos: “I didn’t expect anything. I just grew up to play my position, play my role, and do my thing. I never try to overstep on anybody or nothing. Talking was my weakest point. On the indies, we get away with cussing. I wasn’t comfortable in talking. Not at all. Then, they started letting me speak. I remember Tama telling me, ‘Just talk like yourself. Be yourself. Some of the stuff you’re saying, ain’t nobody saying your slang.’ Shout-out to Triple H. It started off small with a couple of lines here. Solo has actually been a big help on my promos. Everything you see me and Solo doing, he’s been more than helpful.”

Blue Panther Jr. will be in action at MLW Fightland.

Rhaka Khan’s next hearing will be August 28th at 9 AM ET. She was remanded to Riker’s Island after pleading not guilty to all of these charges, but got released from Riker’s on Tuesday afternoon. (PWI)

Eddie Kingston talks about his mental struggles during his physical recovery: “Every Dynamite, every pay-per-view, granted, I did it to myself. I didn’t blame chemical imbalance. I took my Zoloft and all that. I knew I’d get out of it, but I didn’t want to. I think a lot of people get to that. Happened to me, spiraling. That’s why the thing came out about me thinking about retirement. I don’t want to fucking retire. I don’t, but during that four or five months during PT, once in a while, I just sat in my own shit thinking, ‘Yeah, fuck. I did the G1. I wanted to do more, but ah, fuck it.’ I’m making excuses for why it’s okay to quit. I think a lot of people get there. It’s not that they are mentally weak, I don’t like using that. It’s just they don’t know how to push. Years ago, I didn’t know how to push.”

Bret Hart says he told Gunther what he thinks of his chops: “The best wrestling has to pretend to be real. That’s what I did, I tried to make it as real as I could. Contrary to that Gunther guy, who seems like a nice enough guy when I met him, but I hate wrestlers that hurt each other on purpose. I hate it when you’re out there and getting beat up and hurt by a guy for real. Like chops. Who ever won a fight with a chop? What a waste of time. Ric Flair is famous for bringing the chops the way they are now. My dad used to tell wrestlers at Stampede, ‘Nobody ever beat anybody with a chop.’ It’s true. They hurt, they look like shit. They make a big slap sound, but they hurt. When you get chopped by somebody like Ric flair for a 30 minute match and he chops you 15 times, your whole chest the next day is bruises. It hurts to put a shirt on. I used to wrestle Ric Flair and wake up going, ‘Why am I hurting so much? Doesn’t Ric Flair know it’s a show?’ It’s not supposed to be real. I’m not supposed to wake up with a really sore chest. I have no respect for guys that hurt each other all the time. It’s just to me, lazy, shit wrestling when guys like Gunther. I’ve told him this to his face, it’s bullshit. When you’re hurting somebody for real, you’re unprofessional. I wrestled guys and never hurt anybody.”

Mike Bailey talks about being in AEW: “It feels a lot more comfortable, and I feel like my career has a lot more of a direct trajectory now that I work for one promotion and that one promotion has global reach. I think the global expansion of AEW has been fantastic to watch, going to Australia last year, doing more and more shows in Canada, coming to the UK with Forbidden Door this month, and then coming to Elena, Mexico earlier in the year.”
