In the head to head battle between AEW Grand Slam and WWE NXT this week, each company can find a way to claim victory. AEW did 495,000 viewers and a 0.11 18-49 demo, while WWE did 532,000 and a 0.10. So WWE won the overall viewership, but AEW won the demo. (Wrestlenomics)
After this week’s Houthi rocket attacks from Yemen at Saudi airports caused several fatalities and damaged the infrastructure, the U.S. Embassy issued a travel advisory for Saudi Arabia that warns citizens to not only reconsider traveling to the country but for those there to “exercise heightened vigilance” and that U.S. citizens in affected areas should consider leaving altogether. Anybody still think it’s a good idea to hold Crown Jewel 2026 or WrestleMania 43 there? “Due to the ongoing security situation in Saudi Arabia and Houthi public threats against airports and airspace across Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Mission reminds all U.S. citizens to exercise heightened vigilance. The Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including against civilian airports, and the military conflict has the potential to escalate. U.S. citizens should be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. We recommend checking your flight departure status directly with the airline and with the airport. U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to travel within 20 miles of the Yemen border due to safety risks and need special authorization to travel to the provinces of Jizan, Asir, Najran, and the cities of Qatif, Yanbu, and Taif. U.S. citizens are advised to not travel near the Yemen border. Follow the guidance of national alerts released by Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense.”
Laynie Luck has reportedly left the WWE ID program altogether following dropping the title to Monica Monroe at a recent ROW event. (FF)
Maven Huffman has apologized for releasing an Enzo Amore interview, not for the content itself (which he didn’t need to do) but for the timing seemingly ignoring the passing of PAC and — as Enzo would have it — not “grieving” for long enough. Maven himself explained the interview had sat in the can for a year because Enzo asked them to remove something, which they did remove, and that no disrespect was intended to Enzo or PAC. To me conflating the former to slight the memory of the latter was a stretch at best but if he felt apologizing was the right thing to do I support it.
