Steve Maclin, Bad News Brown, Kyle O’Reilly, Trey Miguel, WrestleMania 42, Collision, Dark Matches, NXT, Samoa Joe – Thursday’s Latest Pro Wrestling News for April 23rd, 2026

Steve Maclin

Via social media Steve Maclin said he’s medically cleared and “ready to work.” He had originally been concussed in a main event match with Mike Santana at the TNA Sacrifice PPV last month.

Also via social media Helen Coage, the widow of Bad News Brown, asked fans to not be bitter that she wasn’t given the time for an induction speech at the WWE Hall of Fame. In the same post she offered what would have been her speech if they gave her the opportunity. Here’s an excerpt: “In every cheer, every memory, every moment like this – he’s still here. And tonight, I know he would be so proud… not just of this honor, but of the family, the fans, and the legacy he leaves behind. Thank you for remembering him. Thank you for honoring him. And from the bottom of my heart – thank you for never letting him be forgotten.”

Kyle O’Reilly talks about his in-ring return: “It was extremely special just to come back. Nothing in life is guaranteed from a life standpoint, let alone from a matches standpoint. The chance to make moments in wrestling, none of those are guaranteed. So the fact that I did get to come back to the ring at all is a blessing in itself, let alone to happen in my hometown to win a championship. That’s extremely special. My family was there, my friends were there. It was a really special high-stakes, emotional night for sure.”

Trey Miguel says he suffered a broken patella at TNA Rebellion but won’t need surgery.

WWE/TKO got a $6 million site fee and $4.3 million in tax credits for WrestleMania 42. They also put out a press release saying it was the highest grossing event in WrestleMania event.

The May 9th episode of Collision will be on TBS instead of TNT.
