Sending 2025 out with a bang, and being recapped on New Year’s Day 2026 because I was also sending 2025 out with a bang last night! The TBS Championship is on the line! The National Championship is on the line! The AEW Men’s World Championship is not on the line at all, but we’ll hear from the new champ, and that sounds cool enough!
Dynamite opens with MJF pulling up with the AEW Men’s World Championship around his waist. He then makes his way to the ring. He talks about how his three opponents at World’s End are considered the Top 3, but he’s the world champion. Then he unveils the new Triple B championship belt, version 2. He says the locker room better step up, or get stepped on, because he’s done slowing himself down. Kenny Omega comes across the big screen and says he’s been asking himself if this newest incarnation of Kenny Omega can be world champion again, but he’s going to do whatever it takes to find out. MJF chides him for not saying it to his face, and Hangman interrupts in person, as does Swerve.Security floods out, and MJF says they need to rack up some wins first. They get free of security, and MJF flees as Hangman and Swerve take out security. Hangman says he’s going to strangle MJF, and Swerve says that’s still the kinder option. Samoa Joe comes over the screen with the Opps and says they don’t deserve anything, he deserves to be #1 Contender. He says that Hook is coming for Hangman, and Hobbs is coming for Swerve, next week. Hangman accepts, while Swerve says it should be Lights Out. Which I guess also means it’ll be a tag?
