To the surprise of no one brothers Penta and Rey Fenix both advanced to the semi-finals for the right to face Roman Reigns in Mexico City on last night’s Raw. The finals will be on Raw next week.
Speaking of Raw, Big Cass beat Je’Von Evans in his first official match since his WWE return.
Kyoki (formerly Hiromu Takahashi) had a dark match before Raw.
WWE will hold tryouts at their two live events in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In this interview Darby Allin talks about what he learned from Sting: “Yeah, how to carry yourself out of the ring. We’re talking about a guy who’s done everything there is to do in the industry, and when you talk to him, he’s the most humble, chill guy. He doesn’t big-league anybody, and that’s kind of what I realized later on because there’s so many egos where it’s like, ‘Oh, I can’t show any weakness.’ He’s so chill and so happy all the time. That’s what I hold on to most now that his career ended – how he conducts himself when the 15-minute ride is over. That’s what kind of inspired me the most.”
Will Ospreay talks about Alex Windsor helping him recover after surgery: “She was brilliant. You think about everything she has gone through. Two surgeries, an ACL reconstruction and a meniscus surgery. She had a career taken away from her twice, and she’s able to come back from it. She filled me up with so much confidence. How to be able to balance off your partner, making sure that we’ve got a good line of communication. It was so weird. She was coming into AEW when I was leaving to go get surgery. It was almost like my life before the surgery. I would leave my now wife and kid at home, and I would go to wrestle and then I would come back. Now the roles were reversed, and there were elements where for the first six weeks I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t pick anything up. I couldn’t even really go for long walks. I was allowed to do 30-minute walks and stuff like that. They even said, ‘Don’t let him be too lazy. He does have to, like, do stuff for himself.’ I couldn’t pick anything up after five kilograms. She, throughout all of it, was the biggest support system. Without her, I generally think I would have crumbled. I wouldn’t have been nowhere near the level of where I’m at. She kept my focus when I was allowed to go to the gym. She picked up the pieces to allow me to go to the gym and just have an hour to myself to burn out any demons that were inside my brain. She was honestly otherworldly when it came to being such a support.”
AEW’s Fright Night will be October 28th in St. Louis.
