Joe Doering passed away today in hospice care at the age of 44. (FF) The two time AJPW Triple Crown Champion had been battling brain tumors since 2016, and while his first surgery enabled him to return to the ring, the second left him with ataxia that caused mobility issues and ended his wrestling career. My condolences to his family, friends and fans. As I said on last night’s podcast, I always felt like Joe should have been as big a deal in the U.S. as he was in Japan, but sadly that never came to be.
In this interview Tony Khan addressed the AEW status of Jack Perry: “The plan for AEW and Jack is for Jack to be here for a long time. I have believed that Jack is a great wrestler for many years, and I continue to feel that way. I like Jack very much, personally. He has a very bright future in wrestling and a great mind for wrestling. It’s been really gratifying for me and fans (to see) the return of Jungle Jack Perry and seeing fans embrace Jack and the great matches he’s been having. The plan is for Jack Perry to be in AEW for a long time, so that’s going to happen.”

Nattie Neidhart will be competing at NWA 78 on July 25th — apparently with WWE’s blessing. That’s not too surprising though as they also let her compete at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport.
