Arya: “Sadly author Lizzy Flanagan wasn’t able to join us this week to review the David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions, so we pushed that back a week. Instead we just went back to watch Mid-South Wrestling and then, because Trae insanely insisted on watching 2 hours of World Class, we watched the Championship Sports show from the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth. On Mid-South, we had Brad Armstrong vs Jake Roberts in the 6th round of the television tournament for a medal and $10,000. Will Brad’s byes past the first 5 rounds come back to be a help or a hindrance? Plus. Kamala and General Skandor Akbar conspire to commit the worse incident we’ve ever seen occur, which somehow was even more horrendous than Edcar Boo Thomas attempting to wrestle. Meanwhile on World Class, we finally got a TV Title match, as Dennis Condrey challenged Scott Casey, who is apparently the champion. Elsewhere The Popular Brian Adias wrestles The Unpopular Rip Oliver in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match that somehow goes 28 minutes of tv time, which is then immediately followed by 30+ minutes of promos and recaps, which is more than we may have ever had on WCCW in 3 years. Plus we look at the Von Erich’s Pizza Inn commercial and a lot of other 1985 local Fort Worth commercials. Plus Arya and Trae discuss the Connecticut Sun, fake sports, Zouaves, World War I, John Mulaney, Burger King, TKO trying to get their roster to re-sign for 50% pay cuts and so much more. A fun show as always.”
