WWE released a roster full of people on Friday night. Among all the sources reporting, the list of people let go are Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Alba Fyre, Zoey Stark, Andre Chase, Dante Chen, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Santos Escobar, Apollo Crews, Kairi Sane, Tyra Mae Steele, Tyson, Tyreik, Malik Blade, Luca Crusifino, Trill London, Chris Island and Sirena Linton.
I will never be happy when people lose their jobs, but there has to be more people than me who responded to that list by saying “Who is Chris Island?” and “Sirena Linton cannot be the name of a real person.”
Zelina Vega posted on X that she was upset with Sean Ross Sapp for posting her release before she was able to. I am probably biased as a peripheral member of the wrestling media, however I side with SRS’s job to report the news, whether or not Zelina did first. To me this is no different than if CNN reported that Donald Trump fired Linda McMahon before either Trump or Linda went to social media to report it.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Berwyn, IL city attorney and chief of police confirm that the entertainment license for the Berwyn Eagles Club has not been pulled and that wrestling doesn’t need to be licensed in the town unless the shows are being held on public property. AEW has announced shows on 7/1 in San Diego, 7/15 in Boston, 7/16 in Boston, 7/22 in Nashville, 7/29 in Detroit, 7/30 in Detroit and 8/12 in Baltimore. These are all in small buildings except San Diego. (AEW Tix)

Hirooki Goto is having an up and down week. First the trailer for Street Fighter was released, which also played before the main event of WrestleMania, but earlier today at New Japan’s Wrestling RedZone show, he and YOSHI-HASHI came up short in their chance to rest the IWGP Tag Team Titles from the Knockout Bros.
However, a set of tag titles did change hands as Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles became 3-time IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions, defeating Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori. (NJPW Global on X)
