AJ Styles was handed an AEW World Title and asked to autograph it. His response on camera was “Matt, Nick, I love ya. I can’t sign this though.” That’s both fair and valid. No matter how cute you think you’re being you shouldn’t ask wrestlers to sign things for “the other side” especially if they’re still active performers. We could go down a rabbit hole of “if they’re retired and inactive” or “if they’ve worked for both companies” (Styles did appear for ROH decades ago before it was part of AEW so it would be hard to say that counts) but basically use some common sense and don’t try to get wrestlers in trouble with the people who sign their paychecks.
