Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talks about the seven year journey to make The Smashing Machine: “Seven years ago is when I first met Benny (Safdie) about this. So it’s been over half a decade to get this going and so, it represents believing in and listening to that little voice, and also doing the work, even when it’s scary, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people who are chasing the challenge as well. That would be Benny, Emily, and Kazu (Hiro), who helped with this transformation every day.”
In addition Rock thanked Brendan Fraser for kickstarting his Hollywood career with The Mummy Returns: “I’d love to start off our conversation by giving you flowers. OK? I’m going to deliver a lot of flowers to your doorstep right now. You and I first connected on The Mummy Returns. That was one of the biggest franchises in the world at that time. I was ready to make my transition into Hollywood. And there was a moment where you could have said, ‘This guy, Dwayne Johnson, he’s never acted before; he’s in pro wrestling.’ The word I got back was, ‘Brendan loves the idea. He welcomed you with open arms.’ It meant something to me, because you took a risk on me, and years later, you and I are sitting here. I want to thank you for really changing my life.”

Regal was the son-in-law of the late Wilbur Snyder. Condolences to his family and friends. (PWI)

It doesn’t appear that WWE feels the financial return on the legacy content currently hosted by Peacock (and expiring at the end of this month) is strong enough to shop around and get a big return, but they’ll take an offer IF they get one. In the meantime they plan to continue uploading material piecemeal to their various YouTube channels — WWE Vault, WCW, WWE NXT, et cetera. (FF) They’d probably need to create whole new channels for the other content if they even care to do so.
