It’s time for the November tradition in WWE, and that is Survivor Series with WAR GAMES!! Team Rhea Ripley take on Team Asuka inside War Games; and we’ll see CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Usos take on The Vision, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar inside of the double-ring steel structure! Aside from the two War Games matches, Dominik Mysterio challenges John Cena for the Intercontinental Title, and Stephanie Vaquer will defend her Women’s World Championship against Nikki Bella! WWE Survivor Series is live in San Diego at PetCo Park Stadium, and we see all competitors arriving to the arena. We get the opening video package to lead us into the show. Michael Cole and Wade Barrett are the commentators for tonight’s event, as well as Marcelo Rodriguez and Jerry Soto for the Spanish commentary. Without much delay, our first match will be WAR GAMES!!
This year is different as there are no shark cages to hold the competitors – no one is allowed at ringside until it’s they’re time to enter. I’m thinking this is due to the fact that they are in a ballpark stadium so there is so much open space that there is nowhere to feasibly put the cages near the entrances like before. This means that now only one competitor from each team will emerge one at a time, and when it’s their time. Charlotte Flair opens the show, coming down the hard-L shaped entranceway.
* War Games Match
Charlotte Flair is the first superstar to the War Games structure, followed by one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka, and they will start the battle for the first five minutes. They start in the left ring chain wrestling, Asuka tries to slam her into the cage wall but she gets blocked, Charlotte hits a gamengiri, Asuka superkicks her, does a side headlock, Charlotte hits a shoulder block and does rolling head scissors followed by a kip up. They fight in the center between the two rings, Charlotte blocks a German suplex, Charlotte leaps off the top but Asuka knees her in the face in the right-side ring. Asuka kicks her over and over, they trade punches, Asuka with more kicks, Charlotte hits the walkover clothesline, chops her several times, Asuka delivers a German suplex and hits a sliding kick. Charlotte goes up top, Asuka cuts her off, slams her head against the cage, and the time winds down for another entrant.
Iyo Sky is the next entrant bringing out a trash can lid with her name literally on it. Asuka begs off, ducks a swing, blocks a shot, takes it from her, Iyo trips her and hits a running dropkick. Asuka kicks Flair in the head, Iyo slips on the ropes and still clotheslines Asuka, then uses the lid to hit the Bullet Train Attack! Iyo stays on the attack with a drop toehold between the rings and pressing her head against the metal plate. Becky Lynch heads out with a kendo stick in hand, gets in the ring, hits Iyo with the kendo stick repeatedly, Russian legsweep with the stick, ties her up in the tree of woe, and smacks her with it. Charlotte takes the kendo stick from her, tosses it aside, and has a staredown with her old friend. Becky tries to get on her good side, Charlotte doesn’t fall for it, they scrap, Asuka gets involved, then both Charlotte and Becky deliver simultaneous exploder suplexes to Asuka and Iyo respectively, and they go back to fighting each other. Asuka and Becky take control of the match attacking their former friends now in both rings.
Alexa Bliss storms to the ring, she takes Asuka down with a back leg trip, and dropkicks the trash can lid into her. Alexa then goes after Becky and beats her down, helps Charlotte up to her feet, and they team up to take Becky down with a dropkick. Alexa does dragon screws to both women, then she hits a flipping neckbreaker to Becky as Charlotte hits the Natural Selection on Asuka. Iyo comes back in the fray to hit the Shotei uppercuts to both women and hugs her teammates. Asuka and Becky are being held down against the cage for the next 20 seconds. The other half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kairi Sane heads down with a green chain, even smacks it against the steel steps to show it’s steel, and attacks every woman with it wrapped around her fist. Kairi does a head scissors to Charlotte, jumps off of Charlotte’s back to punch Alexa with the chain, then hangs Charlotte in the ropes with a head scissors, and dives off the top rope with a punch using the chain. Asuka screams for Kairi to help her, she hits Iyo in the ribs with the trash can lid, and Asuka hits a missile dropkick. Now the heels tie up the faces in the chain, Becky holds them together with the chain so that Asuka and Kairi can hit running dropkicks, and they continue the attack until the next countdown.
AJ Lee comes out next and Becky holds the door shut in fear, so AJ climbs the cage, and Becky runs away into the right-side ring! AJ lands a diving crossbody onto The Kabuki Warriors, laughs in Becky’s direction, then steps into the ring with Becky and stops her from running away again. AJ throws her into the turnbuckles, skips around her, sends her into the cage in three different directions, and hits the shining wizard. Kairi attacks her from behind, mocks AJ’s skip, so AJ takes her down with a back elbow and dropkicks her. Asuka and AJ Lee have a stand-off, Becky attacks AJ from behind, and they gang up to attack her until the others come back to life and help her. Nia Jax marches to the ring next and destroys Alexa and Charlotte with clotheslines and running hip attacks into the cage. Nia blocks a wheelbarrow from Iyo, hits a big forearm, tries to powerbomb her, but Iyo grabs the cage as AJ saves her, but Nia runs through AJ with a body block, and she pulls Iyo off the cage with a powerbomb! All the heels gather to take control again, attacking with the chain and kendo stick.
Rhea Ripley comes out with a lot of weapons! She throws two trash cans at Nia, brings in the weapons, hits Asuka and Kairi with a kendo stick painted black, and hits short-arm clotheslines and a sliding kick to Becky. Rhea kicks Asuka in the head, missile dropkick to Nia Jax, slam Kairi face-first, brings Iyo back up, puts Kairi in the Prism Trap, Iyo puts a trash can around Kairi’s head and hits a running dropkick into it! Iyo kips up, hugs Rhea, Nia blasts right through them, then Alexa hits Nia with a tornado DDT. Lash Legend is the final woman out, wearing her new engagement ring (congrats Trick!), referees Daphanie LaShaunn and Jessika Carr are already in the ring, the door closes, and now THE WAR GAMES BEGIN!!
The War Games is now officially underway so the superstars can now go for pinfalls and submissions. Lash throws Iyo into the cage, clobbers AJ before tossing her aside, catches Alexa in mid-air and ragdolls her around in a cobra clutch, choke slams Charlotte, and punches Iyo coming off the ropes. Lash and Rhea battle it out, Lash powerbombs her, hits a big pump kick, and covers for 2. Rhea counters her finisher, headbutts her, goes for the Riptide, Nia prevents it, and she slams Rhea into the cage. Nia and Lash both powerbomb Alexa and Charlotte into the cage, then down to the mat, and AJ Lee breaks the count. AJ attacks Lash, Becky plants AJ with the Manhandle Slam, covers AJ, and Iyo breaks the count with Over the Moonsault, then she covers Becky, and Lash pulls her off the cover! Nia and Lash press slam Iyo into her teammates, Asuka and Kairi hit The Kabuki Special using the chain onto Iyo, and Rhea breaks up the count!
Everybody on Team Asuka surrounds Rhea Ripley now in the right-side ring, Rhea fights off her opponents, then Charlotte saves Rhea from the mist and friendly-fire catches Lash Legend in the face! Rhea and Charlotte team up to fight them off, both say “Suck it” to Nia, they double suplex her, and Alexa hits the Twisted Bliss to Nia! Iyo Sky is on the top of the cage, she asks for the trash can with her name on it, AJ tries to get it to her but she’s too short, so Rhea puts AJ in the electric chair position for her to reach. Iyo stands atop the cage, puts the trash can over her head, and does a TRASH CAN SWANTON onto the team!! Becky backed away from the dive as she looks on in horror, she avoids the Sister Abigail, runs away to the left-side ring, climbs the cage to escape, but Charlotte brings her back down, Alexa clocks her with a big right, Rhea hits her with the RIPTIDE, and AJ locks her in the BLACK WIDOW to make her tap out!!! WINNERS: CHARLOTTE FLAIR, IYO SKY, ALEXA BLISS, AJ LEE & RHEA RIPLEY!
We do the usual celebrity watch at ringside, and Lil Yachty is back in the crowd again.
“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio heads to the ring for the next match, and he’s accompanied by Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. We get a looooong delay before the “Greatest of All Time” John Cena makes his entrance for his final PLE match. Cena takes his time to soak it all in before rushing to the ring. Alicia Taylor does the proper title match introductions, referee Chad Patton holds up the title, and the bell dings for match (taking place in the left-side ring).
* Intercontinental Championship: “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio {AAA Mega Champion} vs. John Cena {C}
Cena does a headlock takeover, they’re up to their feet, Cena has the side headlock, Dom pushes him off and Roxanne trips Cena behind the ref’s back with Dom causing a distraction. Dom takes control right away, Cena fights back, Dom pokes him in the eye, and Raquel clocks Cena behind the ref’s back with another Dom distraction. Dom covers for 2, delivers a suplex, rolls over, a second suplex, rolls over, completes the Three Amigos, and floats over for a 2-count. Dom beats down the champ in a corner, Cena fights back, Dom exits the ring, Cena follows, Roxanne cuts him off, and Dom with a sneak attack.
Dom slams his head on the Spanish announce table, on the ring apron, on the English announce table, and on the ring apron again. Dom stands atop the barricade, goes for a diving hurricanrana, but they have an awkward landing. Dom is holding his shoulder in pain so ref Chad Patton is checking on him, then he talks to Cena in the ring, and now he calls for the medic. Raquel grabs Cena for the TEJANA BOMB, Roxanne hits Cena with POP ROX, Dom has a miraculous recovery, hits the 619, and lands the FROG SPLASH!! Ref Chad Patton is furious with Dom for the trickery, Roxanne and Raquel jump on the apron to argue, and they get EJECTED!
Cena hits the shoulder tackle, shoulder tackle, You Can’t See Me, hits the 5-Knuckle Shuffle, picks him up for the AA, but Dom slips off, so Cena locks in the STFU! Dom loosens his boot, Cena grabs him and the boot comes off, Dom trips him onto the ropes, hits the 619 again, and lands the FROG SPLASH again for the 1-2-NO! Cena catches him with the ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, and covers for 2.5!! They trade punches back and forth to BOOs and YAYs from the San Diego crowd, Cena hits the shoulder tackle, Dom ducks the second and Cena hits Chad Patton with the shoulder tackle! Cena puts Dom in the STF, but there’s no ref.
Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh run down to attack Cena! Cena gets his knees up to block the moonsault, and avoids the Coup de Grace. Cena gets both men up on his shoulders, and hits the DOUBLE ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!!! Dom grabs the Intercontinental Championship, gets in the ring, Cena ducks the swing, hits the ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, but there’s no referee. LIV MORGAN IS BACK!!! Morgan smiles at Dominik as he gets to his feet, AND SHE SLAPS DOM!! Cena looks on perplexed, Liv jumps in Cena’s arms, but she has an evil look behind his back (just like Cena did to Cody Rhodes) and she gives Cena a lowblow! Cena falls on the ropes, Dom hits the 619, Liv hits Cena in the head with the title belt, and Dom hits the FROG SPLASH! Chad Patton slowly gets back in the ring and counts the 1-2-3!! WINNER and NEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: “DIRTY” DOMINIK MYSTERIO!!
It took six people to defeat John Cena – SIX. Dominik Mysterio needed the entire Judgment Day to win back the Intercontinental Championship, and now he’s a double champion again. Well, that’s it for John Cena in his final PLE match.
Nikki Bella heads to the ring next with a whole new bad attitude. Stephanie Vaquer comes out with her championship. Alicia Taylor is in the ring again for the proper title match introductions, referee Eddie Orengo shows off the title on the line, and calls for the bell to start the match in the right-side ring.
* Women’s World Championship: Nikki Bella vs. Stephanie Vaquer {C}
Nikki attacks the champ right at the bell! Stephanie dropkicks her, slams her head on the turnbuckles, snapmare, hits a running legdrop, headbutts her, and face-washes her. Nikki ducks out the ring, Stephanie follows, sends her to the announce table, and Nikki avoids a kneedrop on the apron. Nikki does a faceplant on the floor, throws her back into the ring, talks trash in the corner, delivers a snap suplex, and covers for 1. Nikki with mounted punches, ties her up in a cross-armed chinlock, slams her down, knee to the face, hits a running faceplant, and covers for 2. Nikki chokes her on the ropes, Stephanie blocks a punch and counters with an armbreaker over the ropes, but then Nikki plants her with a spinebuster. Stephanie rolls her up for 2, delivers a back suplex, goes for the Devil’s Kiss, but Nikki rolls over to the ropes to release, and hot shots her on the top rope. Nikki gets back in the ring, but Stephanie superkicks her and both women are down.
They trade shots, Stephanie headbutts her, clotheslines, snap suplex, tilt-a-whirl schoolgirl rollup for 2, Nikki gets a boot up, then Stephanie with a dragon screw out the corner. Stephanie hits the SVB, covers, and gets a near-fall. Stephanie avoids the Rack Attack, side-steps her in the corner, hits the meteora, goes up, but Nikki pulls her down and hits the springboard kick. Nikki picks her up, hits the Rack Attack 2.0, covers, and Stephanie gets her foot under the bottom rope. Both women on the apron now, Nikki hits forearm shots, Stephanie hits the kneedrop on the apron, they get on the announce table, and Stephanie hits the Devil’s Kiss on the announce table! Back in the ring, they trade shots, Vaquer hits the back suplex, does the Devil’s Kiss in the middle of the ring, goes up top, hits the corkscrew moonsault, and gets the 1-2-3! WINNER and STILL WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPION: STEPHANIE VAQUER!
Backstage, Xavier Woods is sulking, Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller show up to check on him, and Woods mocks Kofi for losing his top spot in the game Super Showdown. We do another celebrity watch including Gabriel Luna and “Topanga” herself Danielle Fishel! Alicia Taylor announces that there’s a new attendance record for Survivor Series – 46,016!
The cage is coming down again for the men’s War Games main event!
* War Games Match
It’s time for the main event! The World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is the first man out and instead of walking through the door, he climbs the cage just like his wife AJ Lee earlier. Bron Breakker is the first man for his team to start off on his side. Punk and Breakker will start for the first five minutes. Breakker takes him down and allows him to get back up. They lock up collar-and-elbow, and Breakker shoves him back. CM Punk does a side headlock, Breakker pushes him off, Punk hits a shoulder block, and Breakker doesn’t budge. Breakker with a body slam, shoulder thrusts, ducks a clothesline, and Punk hits the jumping calf kick. Breakker with a military press, Punk slips down, kicks him in the hamstring, hits a diving axe handle, and Breakker catches him for an overhead toss. Breakker with an Irish whip to the corner, another overhead toss, sets him up on the top, Punk blocks a superplex, and hits a diving clothesline. Punk throws him into the cage just as the countdown reaches 0:00 and out comes an enemy.
Drew McIntyre storms to the ring and Punk is ready for him. They punch each other right away, but Punk is quickly outnumbered, but he still fights back until McIntyre hits the CLAYMORE!! McIntyre and Breakker throw him into the cage, and McIntyre punches him and gouges at his eyeballs. They continue their assault on the champ and grind his face into the cage. The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is out next and McIntyre blocks him from getting in the ring. A bloody Punk gives McIntyre a jawbreaker, and Cody hits a diving crossbody from the top of the cage! Rhodes hits Breakker with the CODY CUTTER and accidentally clocks Punk! Cody apologizes to him, and they hit the HART ATTACK to McIntyre, and the DOOMSDAY DEVICE to Breakker dropping him on the back of his neck! The fight continues but the concern is for Breakker’s condition. Punk hits McIntyre with the Bionic Elbow and they continue to attack McIntyre until the countdown.
Logan Paul is next, he pulls a couple of chairs from under the ring, and gets in the ring for an Alley Oop Bomb to Rhodes. Paul leaps over both ropes to clothesline Punk, and Breakker looks like he’s okay as he is back to business. Cody fights his opponents off, chases Paul to the top of the cage, and they trade shots to BOOs and YAYs from the crowd. Breakker hits Rhodes in the leg with a chair, Rhodes falls down the cage into the ring, and he jabs him in the gut with the chair. McIntyre hits Punk in the back with the chair, and delivers a double suplex to Punk with Paul, and they both kip up. Jimmy Uso is the next man and he slams the door in Breakker’s face. Jimmy brings out a table to a pop from the crowd. Jimmy superkicks McIntyre and Breakker, a Samoan drop to Paul, big boot and hits Uso in the Wind to Paul and Breaker. McIntyre stops Jimmy’s momentum with the CLAYMORE! Breakker runs the ropes to clothesline Jimmy. Punk suplexes Paul, Jimmy is back up to attack McIntyre, and Breakker gives Rhodes the Breakkensteiner. The heels are in control until the next countdown and Rhodes is bleeding now.
Bronson Reed storms to the ring now, steps in, goes up top, and hits the TSUNAMI to Punk, TSUNAMI to Jimmy, and a TSUNAMI to Rhodes!! Reed splashes Rhodes and Punk against the cage wall, then splashes Jimmy in a corner, and sets up the table in a corner. Jimmy slips off of his shoulders, superkicks everyone, but he’s still outnumbered. Breakker with a military press into a gutbuster, and out comes Jey Uso! Jey attacks each man with uppercuts, running hip attacks to Reed and Breakker, double superkicks to Reed, Breakker and Paul, then they hit Paul with the 1-D! Jey calls for an encore, his music plays, and he YEETs with the crowd.
Brock Lesnar is the last man out for his side with Paul Heyman coming out with him. Lesnar clotheslines Jimmy, German suplex to Jey, suplexes to Rhodes and Punk, throws Punk into the cage, and suplexes Jey. F-5 to Jimmy! F-5 to Punk! F-5 to Rhodes! F-5 to Jey! Punk is on his feet with a chair, but Lesnar kicks him down. Rhodes fights back, but Lesnar corners him, then delivers an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Lesnar whacks Jey, then Rhodes, then Punk with the chair. The countdown is on, Lesnar stands on the steel steps, Roman Reigns is the final man to head out, Lesnar is outside the cage, and Reigns hits the SUPERMAN PUNCH, another SUPERMAN PUNCH, and a third SUPERMAN PUNCH! Lesnar counters another with the F-5 THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE!! Lesnar throws him into the cage wall outside the ring, tosses him to the steel steps, and walks him up the steps and into the ring. Referee Charles Robinson and Ryan Tran are in the ring, and now the WAR GAMES BEGIN!!
Lesnar hits the F-5 to Reigns, covers, and Rhodes breaks the count. Punk hits Lesnar with the GTS, Cody hits Lesnar with CROSS RHODES, they cover, and Logan breaks the count with a frog splash. Logan asks Heyman for the brass knuckles, he puts it on, punches Rhodes, and punches Jimmy! Paul dares Reigns to stand up, and Reigns hits the SPEAR to Paul! Reigns grabs the brass knuckles off of Paul, puts them on his own hand, hits the SUPERMAN BRASS KNUCKLES to Reed and McIntyre, and a SPEAR to Breakker! Jey picks up Lesnar to set him up, Lesnar picks Jey up on his shoulders, so Reigns hits Lesnar with the SPEAR THROUGH THE TABLE!! Breakker hits the SPEAR to Jimmy! Breakker hits the SPEAR to Jey! McIntyre gives Rhodes the low blow, and Breakker hits Rhodes with the charging SPEAR! Punk side-steps Breakker sending him into the cage, so Punk hits Paul with the GTS!! Someone is dressed in all black, climbs the cage, lands in the ring, stands there as Breakker and Punk look on confused, shuffle kick to Punk, hits him with THE STOMP, and quickly climbs back out. Breakker takes advantage of that, puts his straps back on, takes them back down, runs the ropes, hits the charging SPEAR, and covers Punk for 3!! WINNERS: BRON BREAKKER, DREW McINTYRE, LOGAN PAUL, BRONSON REED & BROCK LESNAR!!
Who was that?! Paul Heyman has assembled his best team to get the victory tonight. More importantly, Bron Breakker has pinned the World Heavyweight Champion in the War Games match!
