In this interview Dominik Mysterio says he wants to ruin his father Rey’s AAA legacy: “For me, before I even started wrestling and training, it was always a dream of mine to be able to wrestle in Mexico with AAA, as part of AAA cause I’ve always wanted to continue the Mysterio legacy and do it better than he did in every way, shape, and form. I am currently in the WWE and I’m already better than Rey Mysterio, right? I would love to go to AAA and cement my legacy there and make it better than what he had already done. I’m going to down to AAA and shit all over Rey Mysterio so the name that you remember coming out of AAA, Mexico, WWE, whatever, TNA, anything – you hear the word Mysterio, you think Dominik Mysterio.”
A GoFundMe for Sabu’s funeral arrangements has been launched by Dominic DeAngelo: “Sabu’s humble, generous, and funny demeanor outside of the ring impacted those who knew him just as much as inside it. Sabu gifted the world with his presence and will live on forever. Now that he has left this earth, he will be reunited with his beloved mother, uncle, and Melissa. This GoFundMe was created to help pay for all funeral expenses during this difficult time. Any donation or sharing of the cause is greatly appreciated. Let’s honor the legendary performer and the unbelievable human being; the one and only Sabu!”
In this interview Alex Shelley says he had a pre-pandemic contract offer from WWE which he ultimately turned down: “I actually had tabled a WWE contract offer because of the pandemic, right before it. I was too scared to sign a wrestling contract because the entertainment industry was just so up and down, I didn’t know what was going on. Nobody in the world did.”
In his most recent livestream RVD defended Sabu taking a match last month: “People are saying, ‘Shame on GCW for allowing a 60-year-old to get in the ring and have a match like that.’ I can tell you, he’s my closest dude friend; I can tell you he was 61 and he wanted that. He wanted that for a long time. In fact, Joe Clark had been working with Sabu on filming a documentary. He was training. He was wanting to have this big retirement match, so much that when it got down to it, he knew he had more in him. One thing he said after his match with Janela, ‘I got one more match in me. If you’re still interested in doing a barbed wire match, I’m interested.’ I talked to him before about being the guy that is his last opponent, but he said that was cheating.”
Bret Hart’s 2008 autobiography is being released in audiobook form later this year.
Via social media Daffney’s daughter Jamie Lynn Senegal said she refused to participate in the Dark Side of the Ring episode about her mom: “With all due respect I couldn’t be a part of this and cannot watch this. Please do my mom right.” The episode about Daffney (real name Shannon Spruill) airs next week.
In an interview with BET, WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline Moore says she had more to give than she got to show during her pro wrestling career: “Yes, my matches always had an edge; that was all me. I cared about my performance and wanted fans to get their money’s worth. I wish they’d used me to my full potential. I had more to give.”
Zicky Dice is calling out ACW (All Caribbean Wrestling) for non-payment and bad business practices in general: “To whom it may concern: For months, I gave ACW everything I had-booked six months out, paid for my own flights and hotels, worked at a discounted rate, and showed up ready to elevate their product. Because when I commit, I go all in. That’s the Zicky Dice way. But behind the curtain? Bookings pulled last-minute with no explanation. Kicked from the group chat after saying nothing. Left unpaid for 5/17 while the promoter flexes about a ’30-day payment award.’ Meanwhile, messages go ignored and calls unanswered. I’ve seen the way talent is talked down to. I’ve seen how quick people get cut if they don’t play along. And I’ve seen how my name only gets mentioned when it’s time to pitch TV-not when it’s time to show real investment in what I bring. I’m proud of what I did there-but I’m done sacrificing for people who only value you when it benefits them. This chapter is closed. The next one? Bigger shows. Brighter lights. Real respect. And a platform worthy of what I bring to the table. They didn’t build me-and they damn sure won’t break me.” While wrestlers Joseline Navarro, Diamante and Maya World have also chimed in about poor treatment, promoter JB Cool is having none of it — though his aggressive and angry response lends more credence to the complaints in my view: “I say this Ungrateful people complain about the ONE thing you haven’t done for them instead of being thankful for the THOUSANDS of things you have done for them. Don’t invest your time into people who think its your obligation to cure their PROBLEMS. Keep your records & receipts, ijs.” (All of the ALL CAPS shouting is preserved as is.)

Thekla talks about her STARDOM match with Athena: “I had a big title match with Athena for the Ring of Honor Title in January. So we had her over and we started out as a tag team and it was going well and then we started to hate each other’s guts naturally. She called me a hussy and then one thing led to another. And we had a phenomenal match and she kicked the crap out of me and vice versa but, we ended up on, you know, good terms and it was a lot of fun and I’d definitely do it again with her. So, if anybody’s interested, definitely give that one a watch I’d say.”
