For the fans in attendance they are airing “Meal and a Match” with Mercedes Mone on the big screen.
The big screen also aired promos for the first year of AEW streaming on MAX, the video game podcast with Adam Cole & Evil Uno, and 30 seconds of Daddy Magic shilling merch (which was hilarious).
6:43 and we are getting a pre-show match. Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone were just introduced to the crowd. Max Caster is coming out to a round of boos. The big screen now says “Slam Dunk Saturday AEW Collision.” Fans are chanting WE WANT BOWENS at Caster. His opponent is HOOK. Max tried to throw the mic at him as a distraction, got a little offense, then got choked out for a quick tap. Maybe a minute total bell to bell.
Ten minutes until Dynamite and that’s our only pre-show match. Collision will continue in a couple hours!
Tony Khan came out after Dynamite to thank us for braving a blizzard. The Outrunners are coming out for a promo. The ROH logo is on the big screen and they are at the top of the ramp with the Mavericks mascot. They got interrupted by The Infantry saying “that’s cap” (a lie) repeatedly – and told Rick Pitino would never lose to a bunch of scrubs, Bulls belong in Chicago, and the Huskers suck. Outrunners came back with trash cans to stand tall at the end.
Time for Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia! Garcia tried to take a count out loss to retain the TNT Title but Cole wouldn’t let him. 9:32 and the match is still going. Some fans at ringside helped Garcia back to his feet and then he flew into Cole who was catching his breath on a chair. 15 minutes down 5 left just announced. Cole nearly had me but Garcia got a hand on the ropes. Garcia and Cole fight by the announcers and come back in. Cole kicks out of a near fall. Garcia does well. Figure four. Garcia gets a rope break. Garcia with a sharpshooter. Cole breaks it. Fans chant FIGHT FOREVER. Cole spikes Garcia on the apron. Time limit expires after he rolls him back in. DRAW. Garcia retains. I don’t think the crowd is thrilled. A whole bunch of people are hitting the exits.
Julia Hart vs. Queen Aminata starting right now with my favorite entrance song in the women’s division – Harder Hart. Ringside and hard cam are still full but they paid the most for tickets so that’s no surprise. Hart’s first standing moonsault is blocked. Second gets a near fall. Animate drags Hart to the corner and stomps. Hart recovers and goes up with her. She flips Aminata back in, hangs upside down, comes off but Aminata had her knees up. Near fall. Hart avoids a charge into the ropes and rolls Aminata up for 3. Good match!
Mark Briscoe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Rocky Romero vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Murder Machines is our Saturday main event. Takeshita pins Romero to get the win for the heels. We move on to the Sunday taping!
Trios champions Death Riders are defending against Top Flight & AR Fox. Between you and me this is a long time to be out on a Wednesday night. It’s 10:30 CT. Fox tries and fails to overcome a 3 on 1 beating and gets pinned. DR retain. Top Flight get a post match beating from another team but I was in the loo and missed who.
Johnny TV (Mundo, Morrison, Impact, Etc.) is up next versus Bandido. Bandido finally gets the pin at 10:49 PM. He calls out Chris Jericho and says being out my brother’s mask right now. Learning Tree music hits. Jericho says he has to remind Bandido and every one at home that you can only take him for granted so long. He mocks his family and says he’s SOARY he made his mother cry. He tells him he can’t have Gravity’s mask back. He puts it on. He asks Bandido if he’s going to cry. He punches Jericho in the jaw. Learning Tree go for a 3 on 1 beat down but Bandido escapes with his brother’s mask. Jericho and crew mock the crowd before slowly skulking away to boos, but not before a little girl reads Jericho the riot act.
Harley Cameron is coming out at 11 PM. Her opponent is already in the ring. Aminah Belmont. She felt the wrath of Harley in a short match. Harley put on a headset and joined commentary.
Hologram & Komander versus Dralistico & Beast Mortos is our final Sunday bout. Harley ran to the back mid match. She just came back under her Harleygram lucha mask to a big pop. Holo and Ko win. Good night from Omaha!
