WWE: NXT Deadline 2025 Recap – Kendal and Je’Von are Iron Survivors!

NXT is in San Antonio tonight for the final WWE premium live event of 2025, and this is the Deadline for the NXT superstars to make a big statement this year. The Iron Survivor Challenge returns for the men and women once again this year with the winners becoming #1 contenders! Ricky Saints defends the NXT Championship against Oba Femi. Plus, Ethan Page defends the North American Title against Mr. Iguana, Tatum Paxley looks for vengeance against Izzi Dame, and more! Vic Joseph welcomes us to the show with Booker T by his side, we get the video package to open the show, and the NXT Championship will be the first match on a PLE for the very first time! Both competitors head to the ring, Mike Rome does the proper title match introductions, and the first match is underway!

* NXT Championship: Oba Femi vs. Ricky Saints {C}

Femi blocks a single-leg by tossing him away, he corners the champion, Saints escapes and goes for an arm, Femi counters by scooping him up, but Saints holds onto the arm, and Femi counters with a delayed backbreaker. Femi wrenches Ricky’s arm, hits the heavy strikes, flexes and poses, and hits a snake eyes on the top turnbuckle. Saints grabs the ropes, counters with a double-knee armbreaker, walks the ropes for a diving axe handle, Irish whip reverses, slides under him, drop toehold, and stomps on his arm. Femi grabs him by the throat, Saints counters the choke slam, connects with a missile dropkick, and covers for 2.

Femi reverses an Irish whip, catches him in mid-air, hits a backbreaker, military press drop, and the challenger is now in control as he chokes him on the ropes and struts. Femi delivers a suplex toss, covers for 2, hits a big boot, beats him up in a corner and follows up with an uppercut. He clotheslines him from behind, does push-ups next to him, puts him in a top wristlock, clubs him on the back and gets a 2-count a few times. Saints comes back with a running kick, splash in a corner, walks the ropes again, and does a leaping hurricanrana. Saints hits the SPEAR and covers for a near-fall!

Femi sets up for a powerbomb, Saints blocks it, tries to counter, lands on his feet, rebounds off the ropes with a clothesline, hits a cutter, and covers for a near-fall. Saints puts him in the guillotine, Femi starts fading down to the mat, the referee checks on him, Femi comes back to suplex him on the top rope, Saints lowers the top rope to make him fall out, then hits a suicide dive. The ref starts his count, gets up to 8 when Oba starts to move, Femi gets in to save himself, Saints hits the Famouser, and gets a 2-count.

Both men trade punches, Femi clotheslines him, clubs him on the chest and back, running European uppercut in the corner, Saints lands on his feet, rolls him up for 2, Femi powers him up to delivers the powerslam for 2. Femi crashes into the ringpost, but recovers to SLAP him on the chest. Saints hits a tornado DDT onto the steel steps, brings him back into the ring, hits a tornado DDT in the middle of the ring, and covers for 2.9! Saints sets him up for Rochambeau, but Femi counters, plants him with the FALL FROM GRACE, and gets 1-2-KICKOUT!! Femi hits another FALL FROM GRACE and gets the 1-2-3!!! WINNER and NEW NXT CHAMPION: OBA FEMI!!

Oba Femi is once again the Ruler of NXT as he is now a 2-time NXT Champion! Ricky Saints offers a handshake, Oba Femi accepts it, and the respect is shown on both ends. With this victory, Oba Femi will now face Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on Saturday Night’s Main Event next week!

We get a video promo for NXT New Year’s Evil on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026.

Sol Ruca is on the phone with Zaria and they apologize to each other for all the misunderstandings between each other. We get a video recap of Hank & Tank on their trip to Japan where they also won the GHC Tag Team Championships. Hank & Tank will return to NXT this Tuesday.

We get a video showing past Iron Survivor Challenge matches leading up to the women’s match, then Mike Rome explains the rules.

* #1 Contender Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge

Kelani Jordan and Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey will start the match and go one-on-one for the first five minutes. Kelani evades her in a corner, trips her down, Kelani takes her down, they trade 1-counts, Kendal blocks a backslide, slams her a couple times, rolls into a 2-count, and Kelani dropkicks her. Kendal trips her, slingshot double stomp, 2-count, Kelani with an inside cradle for 2, counter or 2, counter for 2. Kelani stomps on her back, shoves her into the ring apron, throws her back into the ring, delivers a northern light suplex and bridges for 2. Kelani hits a backbreaker, covers for 2, then they both collide in the middle of the ring. Kelani hits a legdrop to the back of the neck, covers for 2, goes up top with 20 seconds left, and Kendal hits a snap powerslam for 3!!

Jordynne Grace runs down as Kelani has to go into the penalty box for 90 seconds. Jordynne takes control with double knees to the Grey’s back, a running hip attack, hits then springboard splash, and gets a 2-count. Jordynne does a sunset flip for 2, then locks her in a submission. Kelani’s time expires, Kelani and Kendal trade covers and 2-counts, Kendal with an ankle lock, Kelani counters and gets a 3-count to earn a point. Kendal enters the penalty box as Kelani and Jordynne go at it. Jordynne gets outside the ring and clotheslines Kendal on her way out the penalty box, then Kelani hits Grace with a tornillo. Kendal prevents a superplex by Grace, she tries for her own, but Jordynne comes from behind with a tower of doom!

Lola Vice heads out next to kick heads off, she knocks out Kendal with the spinning backfist, and covers for 3 to send her to the penalty box! Lola hits a German suplex to both Grace and Jordan, hits the running hip attack, delivers a back suplex to Jordan, covers for 2, and covers Grace for 2. Lola kicks Kelani down in a corner, goes after Grace, Kendal is back in play, ducks a backfist, goes on offense against all other 3 women, and pins Grace for 3 to send her to the penalty box and gets two points! Kendal and Kelani battle on the top turnbuckle, Kenda hits a release German suplex off the top, covers, Lola hits Jordan with a big knee, and Kendal breaks the count with a stomp to the back! Lola goes for the leg, Kendal goes for the arm, Lola counters for 2, Grace is back, spinebuster to Grey, and hits the package piledriver for 2.5! Jordynne delivers a capture exploder suplex, Kelani goes for a diving crossbody, but Jordynne counters for 3!

Sol Ruca is the final superstar out, but Kelani slams her knee on the apron before getting sent to the penalty box! Jordynne, Lola and Kendal all try to pin each other or make one another submit. Jordynne hits a shoulder tackle, back suplex, You Can’t See Me, but Kelani’s time is up and she interrupts Grace! Kelani covers Vice for 2, slings down Grey, battles with Grace on the apron and hits the Spanish fly! Sol Ruca is back and attacks Jordan! Sol hits the SOL SNATCHER to both Jordan and Vice, covers Jordan for 3, and covers Vice for 3! Sol hits Grace and Grey with a missile dropkick, while Vice and Jordan fight each other inside of the penalty box! Sol puts Grey in a dragon sleeper, and Grace applies a half crab!

Jordan and Vice are released, Vice breaks up the submissions, and rolls Grey up for 2. Sol hits the slingshot X Factor, Grace takes her down, Kendal hits SHADES OF GREY to Grace, Kelani breaks up the count with the 450 Splash, then covers Grace for 3!! All other four women battle it out, Sol hits a moonsault onto Vice and Grey, then Kelani hits a springboard moonsault onto Ruca! Back in the ring, Kelani goes for the 450 Splash, but Sol moves out the way, Jordynne is back in the ring, takes them out, hits a swinging powerbomb to Jordan for 3! Lola Vice covers Grey for 3! ALL FIVE WOMEN ARE TIED AT TWO!! Sol delivers a back suplex to Grace on the apron, and Lola jumps on Ruca with a sleeper hold. Kelani and Kendal are fighting inside the penalty box.

ONE MINUTE LEFT! Sol hits the SOL SNATCHER from the steps onto Vice outside the ring! Sol throws Vice back into the ring, but before she can capitalize Kelani exits the penalty box and wipes out Ruca! Kelani hits Vice with the 450 Splash, covers, Jordynne breaks up the count, Kelani pulls Grace out the ring, Jordynne and Kelani fight outside the ring, Kendal hits Vice with the DIVING SHADES OF GREY and gets the 1-2-3 WITH THREE SECONDS REMAINING TO WIN THE MATCH!! WINNER and #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Title, the 2025 WOMEN’S IRON SURVIVOR: KENDAL GREY!

Fatal Influence head down to talk trash. Kendal Grey stands in the ring the victor with her Evolve Women’s Championship over her shoulder talking back to Jacy Jayne for her NXT Women’s Championship, and they meet at NXT New Year’s Evil.

Backstage, Blake Monroe is telling NXT General Manager Ava that she wants to defend her NXT Women’s North American Championship in an open challenge on Tuesday. Ava encourages her to go ahead to defend the title on her own. Miles Borne is asked about what entrance he chose for his match, and he picked #3 right down the middle. Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace are STILL fighting after the match is over.

* NXT North American Championship: Mr. Iguana vs. Ethan Page {C}

Iguana with a rear waistlock, Page slings him off, Iguana has all limbs upwards playing dead, and Page doesn’t know what to do. Iguana springs to life with an armdrag, and the crowd sings his name. Iguana takes him down, crucifix pin for 2, Page complains to the ref, Iguana goes for La Yeska, and Page gives him a DDT. Page picks him up on the turnbuckles, Iguana smacks him with La Yeska, lands a diving crossbody and gets a 2-count. Iguana does a tilt-a-whirl headscissors, Page throws him into the steel steps, brings him back into the ring, hits a back elbow, and smacks him on the head making him play dead again.

Mr. Iguana hits a running hurricanrana, springboard headbutt, picks up La Yeska, bites his finger, walks the ropes, Page pulls him off the ropes with a powerslam, stomps on him, body slam, and hits a big boot. Page grabs La Yeska, stares at it, spits on it, and throws it out the ring. Iguana gets mad, slaps and chops him, hits a swinging DDT, and Page shoves him onto the turnbuckle. Iguana counters with a hurricanrana off the top, hits a tope into a hurricanrana, goes up top, hits a flying headbutt, and covers for a near-fall. Iguana goes up, Page pulls him back down, hits the TWISTED GRIN, and gets the victory. WINNER and STILL NXT North American Champion: ETHAN PAGE!

Kendal Grey gets interviewed backstage about her interview, and she is elated about winning as an underdog. Sol Ruca shows up to congratulate her, but says that grey wouldn’t have won if she was out there for her full time allotted. Wren Sinclair reminds her that Zaria speared Grey on NXT days ago, and Grey still won the match. Sol Ruca says that Zaria is still her best friend and she will fight for her.

We get a video package to highlight the story between Tatum Paxley winning the NXT Women’s Championship, and Izzi Dame getting annoyed with her in every step she made, ultimately costing her the title at NXT Gold Rush weeks ago. The Culling comes out in full as Shawn Spears and Nico Vance accompany Dame to the ring.

* Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley

The bell dings, Izzi tries to console her, Tatum is sad, but she trembles with anger and starts swinging until Izzi drops her. Izzi hits a European uppercut, Tatum hits a flipping legdrop, hops onto the apron, and looks down on her with confusion as Izzi begs her off. Tatum helps her up, hugs her, Izzi has an evil look on her face, and shoves her into the steel steps.

Back in the ring now, Izzi beats her down making her cry, blocks a corner attack, slams her down, running shoulder to the midsection, chops her, talks trash, hits a swinging backbreaker and covers for 2. A “Let’s go Tatum” chant breaks out, she puts her in the sleeper hold, Izzi stops her with a knee, hits a backbreaker, and puts her in the Boston crab. Tatum crawls to the ropes, inside cradle for 2, Izzi clotheslines her, and dares her to do something before slapping her.

Tatum taps into her crazy, fights back, gets on the middle ropes, Izzi cuts her off, Tatum blocks a superplex, leaps off and Izzi dropkicks her in mid-air, hits a swinging fisherman’s suplex, and gets 2.5! Izzi and Tatum trade shots back and forth, Tatum superkicks her, crucifix bomb, running low crossbody through the ropes, and stripes the announce table. Tatum sets up for her finisher on the announce table, the crowd encourages her, and she hits it! Tatum throws her back into the ring, Shawn Spears offers her two new dolls, he rips the head off of the doll with black hair, Tatum slaps him, gets back in the ring, Izzi hits the big boot, plants her with the Sky High, and gets the 3-count. WINNER: IZZI DAME!

Ricky Saints is sulking in the locker room about losing the NXT Championship. Je’Von Evans shows up to console him, and gives him words of encouragement. We get a video of Shiloh Hill, and he’ll finally have his first match on NXT this Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, Jordynne Grace takes on Kelani Jordan, and Blake Monroe issues an open challenge for her NXT Women’s North American Championship.

We get the same video showing past Iron Survivor Challenge matches to hype up the upcoming main event match, then Mike Rome explains the rules once again.

* #1 Contender Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge

The TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater is the first man out, followed by Je’Von Evans! This means that the two friends will battle each other for the first five minutes in a rematch from TNA Bound for Glory. Slater blocks the cutter to start the match, kicks him in the head, Evans rolls away, and they have a standoff. They lock fingers, Slater with a leg trip, Evans side-steps him, Slater hits a hurricanrana, then Evans hits a hurricanrana. Both men catch each other’s foot, Slater hits a spin kick, handspring back elbow, and covers for 2. Evans punches him, Slater with a kick to the gut, Evans bounces into a hurricanrana, and dropkicks him for a 2-count. Evans chops him hard, Slater chops him back, Evans with a hard chop, Slater rolls him up for 1, Evans counters for 1, Slater revers for 1, Evans springboards, Slater rolls him up for 2, Evans hits the cutter, and hits a hurricanrana rollup for 3! Evans has one point as Slater reports to the penalty box.

Myles Borne heads out next, clotheslines Evans twice, hits a European uppercut, covers for 2, Evans lands on his feet from a suplex, superkicks him in the jaw, Borne ducks a kick, delivers the Angle Slam, and gets a 2-count. Evans hits a back elbow, Slater is back in, hits Evans with a springboard crossbody, and gets a 2-count. Slater counters a suplex, they both fall out the ring, and Borne takes them both out with a tope con hilo! Borne brings Evans in, covers for 2, brings Slater in, covers for 2, then attacks both men. Slater chops Borne, Evans chops Slater, and Borne punches Evans for a 2-count. Borne clotheslines Slater, 2-count, Evans upkicks Borne, but the Borne clotheslines both men. All three attack each other, they take each other out, Evans suplexes Slater, kips up, splashes him for 2, and stomps on Borne.

Dion Lennox heads out with support from the rest of DarkState but enters alone. Lennox hits a northern lights suplex to Borne and bridges for 2. Slater kicks him, Lennox throws him onto the apron, and Slater hits a legdrop to the back of the head. Evans and Slater take turns beating Lennox down, they prop him up top, Lennox fights them off, Slater kicks him in the head, Borne with an electric chair drop, and Lennox hits Slater with the Doomsday Device! Lennox hits a tilt-a-whirl powerslam and covers Evans for 3 to earn a point! Lennox clotheslines the others in corners, snapmare to Borne, Slater hits Lennox with a calf kick, and Borne suplexes Slater for 2. Borne uppercuts Slater, splashes Lennox in a corner, and Slater hits a wheel kick. Evans is released, pushes Slater off the top, hits a frog splash to Borne, and covers for 2! Lennox puts Evans on his shoulder but Borne cuts him off.

Joe Hendry the final man to enter with 15 minutes on the clock. Hendry delivers a fallaway slam to Evans, then a DOUBLE FALLAWAY SLAM to Evans and Slater! Hendry grabs Slater, but Lennox stops the Standing Ovation attempt. Hendry battles with Lennox, clotheslines him out the ring, tosses each man out the ring, and dives onto three men! Hendry and Borne fight in the ring, Hendry slams him down, and covers for 3 to earn a point and send him into the box! Hendry throws Slater into the ring, Evans rolls him up for 2, Slater rolls Evans up for 2, Hendry with an inside cradle to Slater for 2, then Evans and Slater double superkick Hendry and Lennox, and they both kick each other in the head. Borne is released, but Lennox kicks the door into Borne’s head and hits a spinebuster to Slater. Evans drops Hendry with the bouncy kick, goes up top, hits the swanton coast-to-coast, Slater hits Evans with the coast-to-coast, then he hits Hendry with the SWANTON 450 FOR THE 3-COUNT!!

Five minutes left and Slater finally gets a point on the board. Borne hits Slater with the BORNE AGAIN, covers, but Lennox breaks the count! Lennox goes for a back suplex, Borne lands on his feet, and hits BORNE AGAIN for 3! All five men have a point! Lennox has to enter the penalty box, and he immediately attacks Hendry while he has time remaining. Evans, Slater and Borne fight in the ring, and Hendry attacks Lennox before escaping the box! Everybody attacks each other, and ultimately Hendry clotheslines Evans. Lennox is freed, pulls Hendry out the ring, and he locks Evans in the penalty box with the referee! Lennox powerslams Borne, covers, Hendry breaks the count, and hits Lennox with the STANDING OVATION! Evans climbs out the box, dives onto Lennox, Slater dives onto Evans, attacks Hendry, Evans gets back in, hits the CUTTER, then hits the OG CUTTER to Slater! Borne breaks up the count, Evans goes for a springboard, but Borne hits the BORNE AGAIN off the middle turnbuckle!! Lennox breaks up the count pulling him out the ring, Slater hits Evans with the 450 SWANTON, Hendry picks Slater up for the powerbomb at the ropes, both fall out the ring, Borne throws Lennox over the announce table, crawls to Evans for the cover, but Evans catches him in the inside cradle for 3 WITH FIVE SECONDS REMAINING to secure the win!! WINNER and #1 Contender for the NXT Title, the 2025 MEN’S IRON SURVIVOR: JE’VON EVANS!!

Je’Von Evans stands tall in the ring while all the other four sit sulking, and he shakes each man’s hand except for Lennox who shows no respect. Je’Von Evans is the #1 contender for the NXT Championship against Oba Femi once again! Speaking of Femi, the new NXT Champion stands at the stage with the title around his waist. The lights go dark… TONY D’ANGELO IS BACK!!! D’Angelo shows up in the ring, gives Evans a spinebuster, and sprinkles black confetti over him! That’s all for NXT Deadline!
