Stephanie Vaquer

In her post-Evolution interview, Stephanie Vaquer expressed confidence she will have a title in WWE before long: “This means a lot for me. WWE is my dream, and now I live my dream. I work hard every day to learn a new style, to learn a new language, to learn everything – I love a challenge. If I came here, it’s because I will be the best. I promise, soon I will be champion.”

Last week’s Raw rose slightly in viewership from 2.5 to 2.6 million viewers. (Netflix)

George Kittle says he’d like a shot at Gunther: “You know what? I wasn’t really a fan of the guy Gunther, hell of a wrestler. But, I think he’s pretty disrespectful to everybody that he wrestles and he thinks he’s better than everybody else. So, you know, maybe he could get it one of these days. But like I said, he is an incredible wrestler. So I would have to do some training first. But surprise attacks are always fun.”

Bill Goldberg was understandably frustrated at Saturday Night’s Main Event: “They cut me off in friggin’ 20 seconds with a microphone in my hand. I got two weeks before I can really spill the beans and make my feelings known about the entire rundown. It was a little less than to be desired. Let’s just say I’m pissed off at the way that I went out. I put so much into it and I don’t feel the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I accomplished. I just think it could have been a little classier prepared than it was. That’s a mild understatement. I’m not going to snivel over it, by any means. I got the opportunity to have it for 28 seconds. Not many people get that. Everything throughout the years built up to the ultimate rib. I guess that was the ultimate rib.”

Alex Hammerstone talks about reuniting with MJF at MLW Summer of the Beasts: “Even with how crazy the world of pro wrestling is where you get these crossovers and you’re seeing these partnerships and working together, ‘That’s not happening.’ Even once I realized Court was like, ‘Yeah, this is happening.’ There is still part of my brain that is like, ‘You think it’s happening. You think you made the deal, but it’s pro wrestling. It’s not happening until it’s happening.’ A couple hours later when I got the grab of my shoulder and got to see Max, it was a really cool moment. This day and age, it’s really hard to keep things kayfabe and have a surprise for the night before some idiot is spilling the beans to the internet early. To get to pull it off, it was pretty cool.”

Hiroshi Tanahashi says his ideal retirement match would be losing a challenge for the IWGP Title: “I’ve been saying this since I was young: ‘I’ll retire when I give up on becoming the IWGP Champion.’ So, if I’m going to stick to my beliefs, the ideal scenario would be to lose in a title match and retire. But, of course, there’s a chance I might win (laughs). I’d have to say, I’m not retiring after all! (laughs). I think the crowd at Tokyo Dome would probably start chanting, give us our money back! I want to retire while still looking up and holding onto the desire to be the best.”
