Drew McIntyre

In this interview Drew McIntyre talks about his health: “I honestly feel better than I felt in about, minimum, six or seven years. During this time off, I’ve had a chance to step back and look at everything from an outside perspective – the product itself and more specifically me because I’m only competing against myself as far as I’m concerned, and I’ve realized, wow, OK, I’ve got some areas I really need to improve upon even though, from a fan’s perspective they might say, ‘Well, look at your 2024 going into 2025 on the microphone, in the ring, physique-wise compared to everybody else.’ I said no, no, no. I might look good compared to everybody else but I was not giving it… I’d say I was giving it 65%.”

Speaking to Marc Maron, Darby Allin talks about his climb of Mount Everest: “It’s a beautiful journey and pulling stuff out of you. When I got to the top of the mountain, I was crying. It was such an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment. It’s pulling something out of yourself. It’s proving to yourself that you’re capable of anything. I know that sounds generic, but honestly, in the pro wrestling world, the guy who runs the show controls how far you’re going to make it or how well you’re going to make it. Someone is in control of your destiny. It’s not like boxing or MMA where, ‘I’m going to prove I’m the fucking best by knocking you out.’ It doesn’t work like that in wrestling. It is so much politicking and random shit that goes into it. I wanted to prove to myself that I’m fucking capable of it. You can’t politic your way up that mountain. There is no helicopter that goes up that high where you can jump out and take a photo on the summit, ‘I climbed Everest,’ and lie to people. You have to track and crawl your way up that shit.”

In this interview Goldberg talked about his first impression of Gunther: “I wouldn’t have expected it either except for the fact that when I met him the first time, I knew he was gonna be something special, I knew he wasn’t flamboyant, wasn’t over the top. He was old school, and I very much appreciate that. I appreciate his style, I appreciate his professionalism, and I’m honored to share the ring with him. It’s always a passing of the torch when you have an old man like myself in there with a young buck.”

On a recent episode of Observer Live, Lance Storm said his time at TNA may end if Impact starts broadcasting live weekly: “Yeah, this has been talked about many times and my answer is always there’s a good chance I won’t be working there if that happens. I love TNA, I love my job, I love everyone that I work with. But, my life has always been a balance of my home life and my schedule and the idea of flying out early Wednesday to not get home till later in the day Friday is a three-day week job and I’m not sure that’s in the cards for me anymore. Maybe we could work out a deal that I didn’t do every week. Who knows? I would do everything I could to stay with the company should that happen and that’d be great if they could get a great media rights deal. But, I’m not looking at a full-time schedule at this point in my life.”

This week’s NXT did 695,000 and a 0.16 18-49 demo, up from 627K and 0.15 last week. (Wrestlenomics)

Giulia talks about her journey from NXT to SmackDown: “NXT is like professional wrestling designed to keep viewers from changing the channel, with moves coming one after another without any pauses. On the other hand, SmackDown is slower-paced. When I was competing in Japan, I preferred to take my time during matches, but here the timing is different, and I’m still learning. Watching the top wrestlers’ matches, they command the ring with their aura. I want to become someone who can overwhelm others with my aura someday.”

Trey Miguel is getting hernia surgery. Best wishes to him!

You can get a month of TNA+ for free with the code PRYME. (PWI)

Kevin Knight on how he’s feeling after beating Shelton Benjamin: “Physically, spiritually, mentally… I’m feeling great. That win over Shelton let The Hurt Syndicate know they can’t take me and Speedball lightly. And Christian, after seeing his ‘son’ Nick Wayne take an L too, I’m sure he’s not as confident as he wants to be.”

Hirooki Goto has been cast as E. Honda in the upcoming Street Fighter film. (FF)
