Dana White has announced that Jon Jones is retired from mixed martial arts, vacating his UFC Heavyweight Title and in the process elevating Tom Aspinall from the interim champion to the new undisputed Heavyweight Title holder. (UFC)
Unsurprisingly with Jon that’s not nearly the whole story. Yahoo! Sports reports that Jones fled the scene of an accident AGAIN in Albuquerque on February 21st. A woman was found in the passenger seat of a car, naked from the waist down, and when asked what happened she said she had been consuming mushrooms and alcohol with Jon and he was the last person driving the car – although he was nowhere to be found. He’s due in court for a bond arraignment on July 24th.
Last night on Collision, Kota Ibushi returned and brawled with Kazuchika Okada. He’s also booked for Dynamite on Wednesday but an opponent hasn’t been named. (AEW)

Sadly we’ve learned that Taishin Nagao is in critical condition after suffering abdominal compression which caused him to go into traumatic shock, which was a direct result of him being hit by a bus last month. The AJPW wrestler is only 21 years old and although those injuries and the fact he’s in ICU doesn’t lend itself to a lot of hope, maybe he’s young and healthy enough that he could kick out at 2.5. I’ll be rooting for him.
