TIJUANA, MEXICO (September 18, 2026) – BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, the world’s largest professional bare knuckle boxing organization, touches down in Tijuana, Mexico for the first time ever, as the Auditorio Municipal plays host to BKB 59, in partnership with Zanfer Boxing. It’s going to be a historic night of bareknuckle boxing action, headlined by a pair of must-see title fights.
“The wait is over. BKB 59 is here, and we’re bringing world championship bare knuckle boxing to Mexico for the first time,” said David Tetreault, CEO of BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing. “Two titles, a stacked card and an incredible Tijuana crowd, it’s going to be a special night.”
Reigning BKB Super Cruiserweight World Champion Julian “El Guerrero Mexicano” Fernandez weighed in at 199.8 lbs., as he gets set to defend his title in front of a hometown crowd. The Tijuana native looks to remain undefeated in his bareknuckle boxing career as he looks to make a successful first title defense.
Keen on adding another world title to his already-impressive resume is challenger Dan “Big Pod” Podmore, who tipped the scales at 199 lbs. A vicious knockout artist with eight wins by stoppage under his belt, Podmore plans to give the hometown favorite Fernandez a rude homecoming.
“I’m proud to headline BKB’s first event in Mexico, and I’m ready to show Tijuana why I’m the champion,” said Julian Fernandez. “Dan has been in big fights before, but he’s coming into my city, and I’m ready for him.”
“This is a huge night for BKB, but when that door closes, it’s just me and Julian.” added Dan Podmore. “He’s fighting at home, but that pressure is on him. I’m here to do a job and take his belt.”
More championship gold will be on the line tomorrow night, as the vacant BKB Super Flyweight World Championship will be up for grabs. Making weight for this must-see title clash are Mexico’s own Cecy Ulloa, who weighed in at 114.8 lbs., while Andy “The CrAsian” Nguyen came in at 113.8 lbs.
Tijuana will be treated to a stacked card from beginning to end. Romario Ovalle and Marco Chino Villa both made weight for their super middleweight matchup, while Pablo Felipe Anguiano and Ricardo Ramses Rueda also made their cruiserweight clash official.
