WWE WrestleMania 41 Saturday Recap – Heyman Helps Burn it Down! THREE New Champions!

WrestleMania has finally here with another two-night extravaganza event in WWE, and it’s only night one! We have a big triple threat match for tonight’s main event between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and CM Punk in his first Mania main event. Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso gets his chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther. The other Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair challenges Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Title. Plus there are much more to look forward to! The live recap of WrestleMania Saturday starts with the pre-show at 5 PM ET/4 Central on social media, and the main premium live event at 7 PM ET on Peacock (USA) and the WWE Network (worldwide). Hit F5 or refresh as often as you like for the latest updates!

IT’S WRESTLEMANIA IN VEGAS! We start with a rendition of “God Bless America” sung by Jelly Roll. We get the opening video package to hype up WrestleMania!

COO and 2025 WWE Hall of Famer Triple H is in the ring. “It is my distinct honor to welcome you to Las Vegas, where for the first time ever right here, right now, are being seen by the entire globe now. So with that said, WELCOME TO WRESTLEMANIA!!” Michael Cole, Pat McAfee and Wade Barrett are on commentary for this event.

The Las Vegas cheerleaders are in the stands to help hype up the crowd as Jey Uso makes his way down through the stands. Gunther marches out next with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. Alicia Taylor makes her WrestleMania debut as she starts her proper championship introductions. Shawn Bennett will be the referee for this match.

* World Heavyweight Championship: Jey Uso vs. GUNTHER {C}

The bell dings, Jey tries to psyche himself up. They lock up collar-and-elbow, Gunther backs him into a corner, gives him a big chop, and Jey uppercuts him making the champ roll out the ring. Gunther gets back in, they lock up again, Gunther with a headlock takedown, Jey pushes him off, Gunther hits a shouder block, Jey hits one of his own, hits a jumping enzuigiri, and Gunther rolls out the ring again. Gunther sends him into the corner, Jey tries to lift him but falls back, and Gunther earns a 2-count.

Jey ducks a swing, body slams him, he gets on the top turnbuckle, and Gunther chops him hard on the chest making him fall to the floor. Gunther chops him some more in the ring, Irish whip, running chop, another Irish whip, and Jey comes back with the SPEAR for a near-fall! Jey fights back, Gunther chops him again, sets up for the powerbomb but Jey counters with the Samoan drop. Jey goes up top, Gunther cuts him off, delivers a superplex, running dropkick, hits the POWERBOMB, stacks up the cover, and gets 2.5! Jey counters another powerbomb with the hurricanrana, hits the SPEAR, goes up top, hits the USO SPLASH, COVERS, 1-2-KICKOUT!

Gunther takes his championship and wants to walk out with him, Jey chargers for the suicide dive, but as the ref moves out the way, Gunther hits him in the head with the championship!! Gunther goes up top, hits the big splash, covers and gets 2.9!! Gunther puts him in the SLEEPER HOLD, Jey tries not to fade, reaches for the ropes, but Gunther pulls him back and Jey scrambles to get his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Gunther knees him in the jaw in a corner, hits a big chop, and taunts the crowd. Jey calls for more, Gunther chops him on the chest again, another chop, punch to the top of the head, taunts the crowd again, Jey uppercuts him, Gunther hits short-arm chops, Jey slaps him on the chest, Gunther chops him again, Jey headbutts him, and they trade short-arm attacks. They start hitting clotheslines on each other, and Jey finally knocks him down with a big lariat.

Gunther comes from behind with a Sleeper, Jey counters with a German suplex, Gunther hits the big running dropkick, sets up the powerbomb again, Jey counters and powerbombs him instead! Jey superkicks him, another superkick, hits the SPEAR, goes up again, hits another USO SPLASH, goes back up again, ANOTHER USO SPLASH, GOES UP AGAIN, and hits a THIRD USO SPLASH ACROSS HIS BACK! Gunther gets back up, Jey puts Gunther in the SLEEPER HOLD, and GUNTHER TAPS OUT!!!! WINNER and NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: JEY USO!!!

YEET! YEET! YEET! Jey Uso has finally done it! Jey Uso is the NEW World Heavyweight Champion! Jimmy Uso is here in the ring and gives his brother Jey a massive hug in the middle of the ring, and Jimmy presents his brother with the championship.

Rick Rubin, Criss Angel, and George Kittle are all shown in the crowd enjoying WrestleMania. We get a video package of The New Day’s new attitude after dumping Big E four months ago. Now they want to be the Tag Team Champs again. Eddie Orengo will be the referee for this next match.

* World Tag Team Championship: The New Day vs. The War Raiders {C}

The New Day attack at the bell trying to get the advantage. Erik throws Kofi Kingston into Xavier Woods sending them out the ring, then tags Ivar in, and body slams Ivar from the apron onto both on the floor below. Ivar hits both with a crossbody block against the ring LED. Back in the ring, Ivar splashes onto Woods after tossed by Erik, they cover, and Kofi saves his partner. Erik goes for a suicide dive, gets cut off, Xavier holds Erik draped on the ropes for Kofi to hit a diving senton from the top. Kofi hits Erik with the Famouser, covers for 2, puts him in the ropes for a kneelift, Xavier tags in, hits a leaping double stomp to the back of the neck, gets a 2-count, struts, and shouts “New Day!” Erik fights back, Woods drops him, Kofi tags in, Erik catches Kingston in air and slams him onto Woods.

Ivar gets the hot tag, sidewalk slam to Kingston, running basement crossbody, Kofi side-steps him in a corner, Ivar sits on him, and clotheslines Woods. Kofi counters a powerbomb, hits a roundhouse kick, Ivar breaks through a double team, hits the handspring back elbows to both men, climbs up to the top, Xavier pulls him down, and hits the Honor Roll! Kofi tags in, Xavier goes up, Erik intercepts Woods with a forearm smash, and Kofi hits Erik with TROUBLE IN PARADISE! Kofi hits Ivar with the pendulum kick, jumps over him from the top, Ivar hits a spinning leg lariat, goes up top, hits the DOOMSAULT, covers, Xavier breaks up the count with the LIMIT BREAK diving elbow, and Kofi makes the cover for 2.9! Erik and Xavier get the tags, they trade shots, Xavier with a big kick, Erik counters the Honor Roll with a knee to the back, knee to the face, Ivar comes in, Kofi saves Woods from the Viking Experience, and Erik punches Kingston. The champ again go for their move, and again Kofi stops them from hitting The War Machine by tripping Ivar. Xavier tags out, tags back in, they hit DAYLIGHT, and Kofi holds onto Ivar’s boot to prevent him from kicking out as Woods covers for 3!! WINNERS and NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE NEW DAY!!

The New Day quickly grab the titles and run all the way up the long ramp just to celebrate with that cheap victory! The New Day are now 13-time Tag Team Champions!

O’Shea Jackson Jr., Michael Che, and Jelly Roll are all in the crowd. We get the video package for Naomi attacking Jade Cargill. Ryan Tran will be the referee for this match.

* Naomi vs. Jade Cargill

Jade takes her down with a double-leg, throws her into a corner, stomps and a European uppercut, hiptoss out the corner, continues the offense, Naomi side-steps her in a corner, and Jade powerslams her off the top rope. Naomi attacks her outside the ring, Jade reverses an Irish whip into the barricade, puts her back into the ring, but Naomi rolls back out. Naomi rakes her eyes, kicks her in the side of the face, pulls her off the apron and drops her with an X Factor on the floor. Naomi dropkicks her off the apron, hits a blockbuster from the steps, throws her back into the ring, hits a basement headscissors, and covers for 2.

Naomi continues the attack with mounted punches, jumping legdrop, 2-count, and puts her in a modified chinlock. Jade battles out, Naomi clips her in the knee, and Jade hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Jade knocks her down with double axe handles, thrust kick, splash in a corner, Naomi with a boot up, Jade counters a diving blockbuster into a jackhammer, and covers for 2. Naomi kicks her in the head, Jade hits the bicycle kick, Naomi blocks Jaded with her foot in the ropes, dives, Jade catches her in mid-air, and delivers the fallaway slam. Jade walks over her, Naomi kicks her in the head, hits the wheelbarrow bulldog from the top rope, connects with the split-legged moonsault, and covers for 2.5! Naomi superkicks her, another superkick, Jade blocks the third, Naomi counters Jaded with a victory roll for 2, then puts her in the Rings of Saturn! Jade rolls through and powers up with Naomi on her shoulders, ducks a roundhouse, lifts her in the electric chair, turns it into a powerbomb, then hits JADED FOR THE 3-COUNT! WINNER: JADE CARGILL!

Lily Singh and Lil Yachty are shown in the crowd now. We get a video package for LA Knight on his success, his connection with the crowd, and his U.S. Championship. Jacob Fatu has been on a rise of his own, and he has become the #1 contender for that title. “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu heads out to the stage with Solo Sikoa, but goes to the ring on his own. LA Knight comes out next in a Maserati with the title around his waist. Referee Charles Robinson has been assigned for this match.

* United States Championship: Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight {C}

LA Knight tries to move faster than Fatu in the opening minutes, even hits a jumping neckbreaker. Jacob blocks the BFT and stares at the champion. Knight continues to fight, but Fatu catches him for a pop-up Samon drop! Jacob hits a running back elbow, falling headbutt, Knight with a sunset flip, moves away from being squashed, and counters a back drop with a body press for 2. Fatu suplexes him onto the top rope, Knight dropkicks him in the knee, hits a basement dropkick to send him out the ring, and dropkicks him through the ropes.

Back in the ring, Fatu counters him leaping off the ropes for a powerslam, covers for 2, goes for a running senton but Knight gets his knees up. Knight fights out of the pop-up Samoan drop and counters with a crucifix bomb. Knight side-steps him in a corner, stomps him down in a corner, hits a running knee, throws him into the ringpost shoulder-first twice, clotheslines him, and pops up top for an elbow drop for a 2-count. Jacob goes for his pop-up moonsault but Knight cuts him off, Jacob fights him off, and Knight leaps up top to deliver a SUPER release German suplex and gets a near-fall!

Jacob blocks the BFT, hits the running hip attack, another hip attack, a third hip attack, goes up top, connects with the swanton bomb, and covers for 2.9!! Fatu headbutts him over and over and over, the crowd starts a dueling chant, Fatu says it’s over, goes for the springboard moonsault, and Knight sneaks under for the BFT AND COVERS FOR 1-2-NO as Fatu grabs the bottom rope to break the count! Knight goes up top, Jacob grabs him, Knight fights him off, Jacob kicks her legs from under him, hits a jumping senton across the top ropes, and hits a DIVING Samoan drop from the middle ropes. Jacob Fatu hits the SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT, ANOTHER SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT, AND COVERS FOR 3!!! WINNER and NEW UNITED STATES CHAMPION: JACOB FATU!!

Haku is at ringside to congratulate Jacob Fatu on his first singles championship in WWE! We get a reminder that WrestleMania 42 will be in New Orleans at the SuperDome on April 11th and April 12th next year.

Rey Mysterio was supposed to compete in this next match, but he suffered an injury last night on SmackDown. Instead, he will be replaced by Rey Fenix making his WrestleMania debut! However, his opponent will also make his WrestleMania debut – El Grande Americano. AAA’s Vikingo and Dana White are shown in the crowd. El Grande Americano shoves Vikingo, so Vikingo kicks him in the head!

* El Grande Americano vs. Rey Fenix

Referee Danilo checks on El Grande Americano before calling for the bell. Rey Fenix does a rolling hurricanrana into a pin cover for 1, they wrestle back and forth, and have a stalemate. They do a test of strength, Fenix flips him over, trade 1-counts, bridging up, Fenix pops him on the ropes for a springboard hurricanrana, and gets a 2-count. Fenix superkicks him in the head, hits a missile dropkick from the top, then a diving crossbody from the top rope to the floor below.

Back in the ring, Americano delivers a release German suplex, tosses him onto the apron, catches him for a northern lights suplex bridging for 2, Fenix fights him off the turnbuckles, does a diving armdrag into a double stomp, savate kick, and a roundhouse kick. Americano hits a throat chop, Fenix rebounds off the ropes for a roundhouse kick, but Americano hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex into the turnbuckles. Americano goes up top, hits a 450 MOONSAULT SENTON but gets a 2-count! Americano tries to rip of the mask, but Fenix kicks him off, delivers a driver and gets a near-fall.

Americano shakes the ropes to trip up Fenix, the ref checks on Fenix, so Americano puts a metal plate into his mask, but Fenix catches him with a rollup into a hurricanrana. Fenix hits the Goodbye Amigo off the ropes but hurts his foot on the metal plate in the mask! Americano applies the ankle lock, Fenix rolls through for a 2-count, dives off the ropes, Americano hits a headbutt with the metal plate in his mask, goes up top, hits the diving headbutt with the loaded mask, and covers for 1-2-3! WINNER: EL GRANDE AMERICANO!

AAA’s Vikingo gets in the ring to check on Rey Fenix and helps him up for applause in his WrestleMania debut. We get a replay of the Countdown show where they made the announcement that WWE has acquired lucha libre promotion AAA! We will learn more about this as Worlds Collide takes place in June involving AAA.

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels comes out to an ovation and thanks the 61,467 fans in attendance. “And if you ain’t down with that, we got two words for ya!” Stephen Amell, Israel Adesanya and UFC CEO Dana White are among those in attendance.

We get the video package for Tiffany Stratton winning Money in the Bank, winning the WWE Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair winning the Royal Rumble, and the rivalry these two have had since then. Alicia Taylor in the ring for the proper title match introductions. Daphanie LaShawn will be the referee.

* WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton {C} vs. Charlotte Flair

The bell dings, Tiffany stands in the middle of the ring, Charlotte charges and they starts fighting! They brawl outside the ring now and Tiffany chops her, then shoves her into the ringpost. Charlotte tosses her onto the apron, Tiffany hits a forearm, Charlotte chops her in a corner, Tiffany drops her in a corner, puts her in the tree of woe, and drops her for a 2-count. Charlotte rolls out the ring, trips her up, Tiffany kicks her off, Charlotte drops her on top of the barricade with a back suplex, and throws her into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Charlotte takes over with a chorus of boos and she chokes the champ in the ropes. Charlotte does the head scissors face slam, flips her over and over again, then puts her in the Boston Crab. Tiffany counters with a pin cover for 2, Charlotte hits a neckbreaker, Tiffany side-steps a big boot, dropkicks her, handsprings across the ring into a back elbow in the corner, does it again, and plants her with a spinebuster for 2.

Charlotte hot shots her in the ropes, climbs up top, Tiffany cuts her off, delivers the rolling senton, Charlotte rolls away from the PME, hits a big boot through the ropes, rolls through for a roll-up, but Tiffany rolls through for a basement dropkick. Tiffany leaps over her from the apron, Charlotte hits the big boot, covers for a 2-count, chops her in the chest, smacks her, Tiffany slaps her back, Charlotte side-steps her and kicks her in the head. Tiffany counters Natural Selection, goes for the Alabama Slam, but Charlotte counters into a sit-out powerbomb and gets a 2-count.

Tiffany avoids her leg being attacked, but Charlotte clotheslines her, goes up to the top rope, Tiffany trips her up, Charlotte drops her, Tiffany lands on her feet, plants her with the spinebuster, and gets a 2-count. Charlotte goes back up top, diving crossbody, Tiffany rolls through for 2, Charlotte with knees to the midsection, goes back up top, Tiffany pushes her off, kicks her in the knee, but then Charlotte kicks her in the head for a 2-count. Charlotte slams Stratton’s leg against the ringpost, slams her knee into Stratton’s, then applies the figure-4 leglock, and Tiffany fights her off with strikes to her own bad knee.

Tiffany hits another chopblock, goes for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Charlotte gets her knees up to block and rolls her up for 2. Charlotte drags her into position, kicks Tiffany down, and hits a falling gourdbuster followed by a DIVING NATURAL SELECTION FOR A NEAR-FALL! Charlotte taunts and slaps her, hits a chopblock, Tiffany tries to roll her through, Charlotte gets to her feet, Tiffany side-steps her in a corner, picks her up for the Alabama Slam into the turnbuckles, hits the rolling senton, hits the PRETTIEST MOONSAULT EVER, AND GETS THE 1-2-3!! WINNER and STILL WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPION: TIFFANY STRATTON!!

Tiffany Stratton retains the championship! Tiffany is not without her war wounds as she has a bruise on her forehead and apparently a chipped tooth. Congratulations to Tiffany Stratton!

Three weeks from tonight will be WWE Backlash in St. Louis. We get a highlight recap of last night’s WWE Hall of Fame. The Class of 2025 are standing on the stage, and Triple H does his famous water spit.

Coming up next is the main event of WrestleMania Saturday! We get the video package highlight the major feud going on with the three competitors. This is also CM Punk’s first-ever WrestleMania main event match, and per his favor he will be accompanied by Paul Heyman. Seth Rollins comes out with a flamethrower on the stage. Roman Reigns wears the ula fala around his neck. CM Punk gets a video package with his song “This Fire Burns” playing, then as Living Colour plays “Cult of Personality” live out comes CM Punk with Paul Heyman by his side! This is Punk’s first WrestleMania since 2013. Paul Heyman looks on as Roman Reigns glares at him and takes off the ula fala. Rod Zapata has been assigned to referee this main event.

* Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk

The bell dings, the match is underway, and CM Punk exits the ring to get some wisdom. Rollins tries to convince Reigns to work together, but Reigns uppercuts him and does a 10-punch in the corner until Punk comes in to pull him down and attack Rollins. Punk and Reigns go at it, Reigns hits a jumping clothesline to Punk, jumping clothesline to Rollins, clotheslines Punk out the ring, and hits the drive-by kick to Rollins.

Reigns slams Punk’s head on the ring apron, shouts at Heyman, Punk reverses Reigns into the ringpost, Rollins hits Reigns with a suicide dive, throws him into the barricade, then into the steel steps. Rollins and Punk lock eyes, and the fight is on once again between the two men. Punk clotheslines him into the front row, hits a double axe handle from the barricade, and hits him in the gut and the back with a chair. Rollins hits him in the knee with a stanchion, bashes him on the head, on the back, and on the back of the head with a trash can. Punk kicks him in the gut, then suplexes him onto the trash can, they trade punches, Punk throws a rubber trash can at him, and here comes Roman with a dive over the barricade onto both men!!

Reigns throws Punk back at ringside and onto the Prime cart, throws Rollins back at ringside, points to the Spanish announce table, and takes it apart as Heyman looks on with concern. Reigns slams Punk’s head on the apron, hits Reigns with the big Prime bottle, punches Punk, and headbutts him. Punk fights back, throws him back into the ring, mocks Reigns, goes for the high knee, Reigns catches him for the Samoan drop, and Rollins springboard into an uppercut from Reigns! Punk counters the Superman Punch with the swinging neckbreaker, catches Rollins for the GTS but Seth slips off, Punk hits Reigns with the running high knee in the corner, and hits Rollins with the jumping calf kick.

Punk hits both men with running high knees in opposite corners, plants Rollins with a DDT and a neckbreaker to Reigns. Punk goes to the top rope, hits the Macho elbow drop, body slams Reigns goes back up, Rollins pops up, Reigns gets up to put Rollins in the electric chair, and Punk hits a diving clothesline for the Doomsday Device! Reigns hits Punk with the Superman Punch and covers for a 2-count.

Reigns is fired up, calls for the finish, Punk knees him in mid-stride, picks him up on his shoulders, Roman fights out of it, they trade punches, Punk hits the backfist, plants him with the urinagi, covers for 2, and locks in the Anaconda Vice! Rollins breaks it up with the frog splash. Rollins goes back and forth beating down both men, hits the buckle bomb to Punk, and a buckle bomb to Reigns as well. Rollins sets up fgor the Pedigree, Punk counters and picks him up for the GTS, but Reigns hits Punk with the SPEAR! Rollins is now free so he sets up for the Pedigree, but Reigns counters with a back body drop, Rollins lands on his feet, and counters the Spear with the PEDIGREE and hits the STOMP! Rollins kicks Punk out the ring, shoots the half, covers Reigns, and gets 2.9!

Rollins positions Reigns near a corner, goes up top, Reigns avoids the Phoenix Splash, Punk is back in and catches him, Seth slips off again, Punk side-steps as Reigns hits the SPEAR to Rollins! Punk hits Reigns with the GTS, covers, and gets 1-2-KICKOUT! Punk is in the ring alone, throws Reigns back into the ring, picks him up for the GTS, but Rollins counters and hits the PEDIGREE for 1-2-KICKOUT! Rollins shouts at Reigns (even name-drops Mox) and tries to convince Reigns that Punk doesn’t belong. Rollins takes apart the American announce table, goes after Punk outside the ring, Reigns looks conflicted, yells “PICK HIM UP!” and instead uppercuts Rollins and powerbombs Punk through the announce table!! Reigns then powerbomb Rollins through the Spanish announce table, throws him back into the ring, runs the ropes, hits the SPEAR, and covers for 1-2-KICKOUT!!

Reigns is rocking and swaying in disbelief, throws Punk back into the ring, locks in the Guillotine, Punk starts to fade as Reigns locks his legs, Punk counters with a pin for a 2-count, then locks in the Anaconda Vice! Rollins grabs Punk for the Sharpshooter, and Punk screams in pain until Reigns locks in the Guillotine to Rollins now! Rollins counters with a northern lights suplex with a bridge for 2, but Roman re-applies the Guillotine in the middle of the ring! Punk hits the STOMP to Reigns, the GTS to Rollins, and covers Rollins for 2.99!!! Punk is back up, picks up Reigns, goes for Rollins instead, hits the GTS, Roman hits the SPEAR to Punk, and Rollins hits Reigns with the STOMP all in succession!! All three men are down!!

Paul Heyman grabs a steel chair with a conflicted worrying look on his face. Reigns and Punk want the chair, Heyman slides it to Punk, gets into the ring, Punk stands with the chair, and HEYMAN GIVES CM PUNK THE LOW BLOW!!!! Heyman is immediately dejected and shouts “You made me do it!” The Wiseman kneels to present his Tribal Chief with the chair, and Roman goes HAM with the chair to Punk’s back. Heyman directs Roman’s attention to Rollins leaning in the ropes like when The Shield got split up, Roman moves him aside, and HEYMAN GIVES ROMAN REIGNS THE LOW BLOW!!!! Seth Rollins stands tall, extends his hand, and he takes the chair HANDED TO HIM from Heyman, who takes a front row seat in the corner. Rollins whacks Reigns on the back with the chair, hits the STOMP, and covers for 1-2-3!!!!!!! WINNER: SETH ROLLINS!!!!

PAUL HEYMAN HAS ALIGNED HIMSELF WITH SETH ROLLINS!! Heyman even raises the Seth’s hand in victory after screwing both his best friend and Tribal Chief back-to-back in the same match. Heyman and Rollins even leave together. McAfee: “How long has this been the plan?” What a finish!
