Montel Vontavious Porter vs Matt Hardy
MVP and Matt lock up and tussle in the corner and Matt gets a quick arm drag and MVP bails to the floor. MVP gets a waistlock and the two trade arm wrenches and MVP tries to take down Matt but Matt rolls through and takes control. MVP tries to send Matt into the ropes but Matt drops down and MVP goes through the ropes to the floor, and Matt takes him out with a slingshot dive to the floor and rolls MVP back into the ring. Matt sends MVP into the ropes and lands a back elbow followed by an elbow drop for a near fall. MVP comes back snaps Matt over and locks in a chinlock. MVP and Matt trade shots and Matt gets the upper hand and MVP bails out again. MVP sends Matt into the corner and Matt gets the elbow up and climbs the ropes but MVP grabs the leg and brings Matt to the mat. MVP lands a series of punches and lands a big kick to the face for a near fall. MVP hooks Matt and lands a series of knees to the head and snaps him over and locks in a submission and then does a series of crossfaces. Matt fights back but MVP ducks a shot and lands a big press slam. MVP comes off the ropes but Matt catches him a big clothesline.
Matt climbs the ropes but MVP catches him and lands a big superplex for a near fall. MVP goes for a back superplex but Matt counters and lands on top for a near fall., Matt sends MVP into the corner and lands a clothesline and goes for a bulldog but MVP shoves him off into the neutral corner. MVP charges but Matt catches him with a big boot and a bulldog from the middle rope. Matt goes for the Twist of Fate and MVP counters and attempts to counter into the PLAYMAKER but Matt counters and lands the SIDE EFFECT for a near fall. MVP hooks Matt and gets a pinning combination for a near fall, but then Matt gets a quick small package for a near fall. MVP goes for a big kick but misses and Matt gets a quick roll up for a near fall. MVP goes for a press slam but Matt escapes. MVP catches Matt with a big boot and lands the PLAYMAKER on Matt for the win.

We go backstage to Todd Grisham who is with Dusty Rhodes. Dusty why are you so somber THIS IS THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH. Dusty says that people say he created this event and that it ha his legacy written all over it. Dusty says that Randy Orton thought that he was just going to roll over after the previous week’s Raw. Dusty says that he has the respect of everyone in the locker room but it seems like Randy Orton needs some respect beaten into him. Dusty says that tonight Randy Orton will feel what it’s like to get that respect. Dusty says that this reminds him of a story all the little cows and a big ole bull standing over the mountain WHOA BABY.

The Sandman vs Carlito
Sandman and Carlito lock up but they let go, Carlito tries to climb for the cane but Sandman stops him. Sandman wrenches the arm and brings Carlito down to the mat and controls the arm. Carlito comes back and lands a series of shots and sends Sandman into the rope but Sandman holds on and dumps Carlito to the floor. Sandman climbs for the Singapore Cane but Carlito catches him and drops the arm of Sandman across the top rope. Carlito comes back and lands a series of shots and sends Sandman into the ropes and lands a big dropkick. Carlito climbs for the cane but Sandman stops him again. Carlito continues to work over Sandman and lands a series of shots. Carlito goes for a springboard back elbow but misses. Sandman gets the Singapore Cane but Carlito ducksa shot and lands the BACKSTABBER and scores the win.

We go backstage to Todd Grisham who is with Randy Orton. Randy says that he’s glad that Dusty Rhodes is in such a good mood. Randy asks Todd if he knew this was Shawn Michaels birthday and Todd says NO. Randy says neither does Shawn Michaels since he kicked him in the skull and ended his career. Randy says that by the end of tonight when he kicks in Dusty’s face and end his legend there’s not going to be a whole lot for him to remember either.

Melina vs Candice Michelle
Melina and Candice lock up, Melina gets the wrist and forces Candice down but Candice counters into a hammerlock. Candice gets a side headlock but Melina counters into a headscissors. Candice lands a series of shots and dominates the early going. Melina sends Candice into the corner and Candice tries to get the boot up but Melina catches her and traps her in the middle rope and lands double knees to the gut. Melina chkes Candice on the ropes and then drops the arm of Candice over the top rope. Melina straight jackets the arm and sits out with it for a near fall and then locks in a submission but Candice escapes. Candice lands a series of clotheslines and works over Melina. Candice climbs the ropes and lands a big flying crossbody for a near fall. Melina lands a split legged neckbreaker for a near fall. Candice lands more shots but misses a spin kick. Candice hooks Melina and lands the CANDI WRAPPER for the win.

Umaga vs Jeff Hardy
Jeff lands a series of shots and hits the ropes but Umaga lands a big shot to the throat and sends Jeff to the floor. Umaga sends Jeff into the apron and then back into the ring. Jeff catches Umaga with a big jawbreaker but Umaga catches Jeff with a Samoan Drop. Umaga lands a series of shots and sends Jeff from corner to corner. Umaga lands more shots to the back of the head and locks in a nerve hold, Jeff tries to fight back but gets pounded down. Jeff goes for a bodyslam but Umaga lands on top. Umaga drags Jeff to the ropes and goes to drop across the chest but Jeff counters with kick to the gut. Jeff climbs the ropes but Umaga catches him and drops him with a sidewal slam. Umaga climbs to the middle rope but misses a big diving headbutt.
Jeff lands a series of clotheslines to the front and back of Umaga and a big DDT which Umaga no sells. Jeff goes for a sunset flip and Umaga tries to counter by sitting on the chest but misses and Jeff catches him with a seted dropkick. Umaga lands a series of punches and beats Jeff down in the corner. Umaga sends Jeff into the neutral corner but but misses a big splash with his head hitting the turnbuckle. Jeff climbs the ropes and lands the Swanton Bomb for a close near fall. Jeff goes for the TWIST OF FATE but Umaga shoves him off and lands a big superkick. Umaga lands the running hip attack squashing Jeff in the corner and finishes him off with a big SAMOAN SPIKE for the win.

CM Punk vs John Morrison
Punk and Morrison lock up, Punk and Morrison trade waistlocks and Morrison gets a drop toehold into a side headlock but Punk turns it into a hammerlock. Morrison gets back to his feet and locks in a side headlock and Punk shoves him off but Morrison catches him with a shoulder tackle. Morrison goes off the ropes but Punk trips him up and goes into a side headlock and then a chinlock. Punk hooks Morrison and lands a nice slingshot suplex for a near fall. Morrison catches Punk with a shot to the gut and goes for the Irish whip but Punk sends him into the corner and lands a big monkey flip and Morrison crashes face first to the mat and rolls out to the floor. Punk tries to bring Morrison back into the ring but Morrison sweeps out the leg and sends Punk crashing down on the steps and then sends Punk ribs first into the apron. Morrison sends Punk back into the ring and works him over and lands a handstand leg drop. Punk goes for GO TO SLEEP but Morrison counters and drives Punk face first to the mat. Morrison props Punk on the ropes and goes for a superplex but Punk counters dropping Morrison off the ropes and then landing a big crossbody off the top rope.
Punk lands a series of shots and a big spinning clothesline. Punk picks up and slams Morrison and lands a big kick to the chest for a near fall. Punk goes for a suplex but Morrison counters and gets waistlock but Punk counters and gets an O’Connor Roll for a near fall, which Morrison turns over and tries to use the ropes but referee Scott Armstrong catches him. Punk gets a quick roll up and scores a near fall. Punk catches Morrison with a kick to the ear for a near fall. Punk sends Morrison into the corner and lands a big rising knee strike and goes for a bulldog but Morrison shoves him off and bails out. Morrison grabs the ECW Title and tries to leave but Punk catches him and rolls him back into the ring. Punk goes for a springboard but Morrison catches him with a knee to the gut in mid air and scores the fall.

Randy Orton pinned Dusty Rhodes in a Texas Bullrope Match after nailing him with the Cowbell, After the Match Orton tried to punt Dusty but Cody Rhodes came out and made the save.

Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Title
The Great Khali vs Batista vs Kane
Batista and Kane double team Khali to start but Khali takes them both out with a double clothesline. Khali lands a big shot to the head of Batista and chokes him down in the corner. Kane tries to get involved but Khali tosses him off and lands a big shot to the head of Kane. Khali dominates both men and goes to the floor and takes apart the SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE. Batista and Kane double team Khali on the floor and send him into the ring post and land a double spinebuster through the table. Kane lands a big shot to Batista that sends him back into the ring. Kane sends Batista into the corner and lands a big sidewalk slam for a near fall. Batista sends Kane into the corner and Kane gets the elbow up but Batista catches Kane with a big powerslam for a near fall. Batista props Kane on the ropes and goes for a superplex but Kane fights him off and lands a big flying clothesline for a near fall. Khali comes back in but Kane catches him with a big chokeslam but Batista stops the count, and then Batista lands a spinebuster and Kane stops the count.
Kane misses a charge and Batista catches him with a spinebuster. Batista goes for the BATISTA BOMB but Kane blocks with a big back body drop. Kane hooks Batista and lands a CHOKESLAM for a near fall. Kane goes to the floor and gets a steel chair but Batista catches him with a spinebuster before he can use it. Batista hooks Kane and lands the BATISTA BOMB but Khali pulls him out of the ring and sends Batista into the steel steps. Khali gets in the ring and lands the two handed choke slam and scores the win.

King Booker and Queen Sharmell come to the ring. Booker claims that Triple H didn’t get his cease and desist. Booker says there’s only one king in the WWE and it’s him. Booker says that brings him to JEROME LAWLER. Booker demands Lawler get in the ring and put his crown down at Booker’s feet and bow to him. Lawler stands up and teases doing it but instead gets the microphone and says if Booker wants his crown to come and get it. Booker says that he has no choice but to call Lawler’s refusal of the demand an ACT OF TREASON but then backs off and leaves ringside.

Cena and Lashley lock up, Lashley forces Cena into the corner and breaks clean. Cena and Lashley engage in a knuckle lock and again Lashley forces Cena into the corner. Lashley takes Cena down with a big waistlock and locks in a front chancery on the mat and then goes for a single leg but winds up forcing Cena into the corner again. Cena goes for the STFU early but Lashley quickly powders to the floor. Cena locks in a side headlock and Lashley shoots him off and leaps over and mows over Cena with a big shoulder tackle. Lashley sends Cena into the corner but misses a big splash and Cena lands a big bulldog and an elbow drop for a near fall. Lashley comes back and works over Cena and lands a series of shots to the ribs and lands a delayed vertical suplex. Cena comes back and lands a reverse blockbuster and climbs the ropes and lands a top rope leg drop to a standing Lashley.Lashley comes back and locks in a submission and then lets go and just locks in a chinlock,.
Cena comes back and lands two inverted Blue Thunder Bombs. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment but Lashley escapes and catches Cena coming off the ropes with a big powerslam for a near fall. Lashley hooks in a torture rack and drops down with it for a near fall. Lashley goes for the running powerslam but Cena escapes. Lashley comes back and lands a big clothesline on Cena. Lashley goes for the SPEAR but Cena counters into the STFU but Lashley gets to the ropes. Lashley catches Cena arguing with the referee and lands the SPEAR for a near fall. Lashley props Cena on the ropes and goes for a superplex but Cena counters and lands a SUPER ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT and falls on top for the win.
Winner and Still WWE Champion John Cena
An alright show overall here. I wouldn’t have had the Cruiserweight Open and Carlito/Sandman matches seems like those matches are just there to make up for the Edge injury and having to combine the Batista/Khali and Kane/Edge matches into one triple threat. MVP/Matt, and Umaga/Jeff are solid mid card matches. Punk/Morrison could’ve had something but it wasn’t given enough time and the ending was sloppy and abrupt. Cena/Lashley is a solid main event to close the show.
