AAA: Noche de Los Grandes continues for the second week in Monterrey, Mexico! The headline for week two is a six-woman tag team match with Lola Vice, Bayley and La Catalina taking on Las Tóxicas. Also, we’ll see a #1 contender’s match for the AAA Cruiserweight World Championship between five of the best luchadores. Night two is streamed live on Saturday, June 6th at 10 PM ET on WWE’s YouTube channel in English and on AAA Lucha Libre’s YouTube channel en español. We get a video recap of last week’s episode with the epic and amazing mask vs. mask match between El Grande Americano and the Original Grande Americano. Later tonight we’ll see an exclusive interview with the new AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio and the women’s tag match will be in the main event. Octagon vs. Cruz Del Toro vs. Lince Dorado vs. Joaquin Wilde vs. Mini Vikingo
The bell dings and the choas ensues! Del Toro and WIlde work together, they catch Vikingo, they hit a clothesline in the corner, gamengiri, a double suplex, and springboard moonsaults. Wilde catches Del Toro slipping with a schoolboy roll-up for 2, they shake on it, Del Toro with a side headlock, Wilde pushes off, leapfrog, Del Toro cartwheels out of a headscissors, slips through the ropes, leaps over him, rolls him up for 2, they go back-and-forth, and they’re at a stalemate. Lince Dorado and Octagon make them collide, they roll them up for 2, hit superkicks, Octagon rolls up Dorado for 2, hits a tornillo off the top rope, slips through the ropes, goes up top, does a corkscrew armdrag, Dorado lands on his feet from a monkey flip, and does a headscissors.
Mini Vikingo goes on the attack, Dorado hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, clotheslines him, gets a 2-count, picks him up, and Vikingo counters with a revolution headscissors. Vikingo bounces off of Octagon to give Wilde an armdrag, does a springboard hurricanrana to Octagon, Wilde trips him, pulls him out the ring in front of the Mexican announce table, Octagon blocks a suicide dive with a gamengiri, pulls him out the ring, and Del Toro hits a springboard tornillo! Del Toro hits Vikingo with a gamengiri, runs the ropes for a springboard missile dropkick, and covers for 2.
Vikingo counters a pop-up with the hurricanrana pin to Del Toro, gets a near-fall, Wilde hits Vikingo with a rolling thunder jumping DDT, Del Toro covers, Wilde pulls Del Toro off to break the count, they shove each other, they side-step Dorado leaping off the top, but Dorado catches both with a handspring stunner! Wilde hits Dorado with a 360 facebuster, covers, and gets 2.5! Dorado rolls away from a corkscrew moonsault, hits the brainbuster, and hits a suicide dive to Vikingo, Del Toro and Wilde on the floor! Dorado throws Wilde back into the ring, goes up top, hits the SHOOTING STAR PRESS, covers and gets the 1-2-3! WINNER, and new #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Title: LINCE DORADO!
Lince Dorado will be the next challenger for the new AAA Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Fenix! (Octagon was injured at some point during this match, but they edited it out of this episode as this week is on tape delay.)
We get a video from post-match last week of The War Raiders after winning the AAA Tag Team Titles, and they challenge anybody from AAA, Raw, SmackDown or NXT to come for them. We get a promo video for Triplemanía 34 with tickets available for the two-night event in Las Vegas on Friday, September 11th and Mexico City on Sunday, September 13th.
We get a video from post-match last week of El Hijo del Vikingo with Dorian Roldan and Omos congratulating him on winning the AAA Latin American Championship.
Backstage, Rey Mysterio is asked about the mask vs. mask match from last week. He says that match was incredible and history was made in that match as we now have just one El Grande Americano that the fans support. Rey talks about the upcoming South American tour for WWE in September. The media asks him about Dominik Mysterio’s reaction to Rey being named as the General Manager of AAA, and he says even though he was annoyed, family matters don’t belong in the ring. Rey announces that Dominik will be present on June 20th in Mérida, Mexico, and repeats the announcement of Triplemanía in Las Vegas for night one, and night two in Mexico City. “Whomever is Mega Champion at that time will defend the championship on Night 2 of Triplemanía in Mexico City.”
We get a video recap of last month where Las Tóxicas ganged up on La Catalina until she was saved by Lola Vice and Bayley, which leads to tonight’s main event. We get a recap of last week where Chad Gable was unmasked as the Original El Grande Americano. Post-match, El Grande Americano thanked his friends, his fans and all of Mexico for supporting him in his victory. Las Tóxicas all head out wearing matching blue and yellow cheerleading gear, and Lady Flammer has her AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. La Catalina heads out next, followed by Lola Vice with the AAA Mixed Tag Team Title and the NXT Women’s Championship around her waist, and finally out comes Bayley to cap off the entrances.
* Las Tóxicas vs. La Catalina, Lola Vice & Bayley
Lady Flammer will start the match against La Catalina, but she quickly changes her mind and tags out to Lady Maravilla instead. They lock up collar-and-elbow, Maravilla takes an arm, Catalina does an armdrag, hits a basement dropkick, Maravilla with kicks, La Hiedra tags in, Irish whip to the corner, Catalina hits a back elbow, and follows up with a running knee strike. Lola tags in, double team, Catalina hits a lungblower, Lola hits a back kick to the midsection, and covers for 2. The heated rivalry between these two women continue as Hiedra hits an elbow strike, Lola smiles, hits several kicks, and connects with the running hip attack, and another!
All six women are in the ring, the babyfaces all deliver suplexes and hip attacks, Catalina drops Flammer with a suicide dive, Lola lands on Maravilla with a seated senton off the apron, but then La Hiedra sends Lola into the steel steps to gain the advantage. Hiedra rolls her back into the ring, smacks her on the butt, Maravilla gets the tag, pummels the champ in the corner, Flammer tags in, continues the attack, taunts Catalina and Bayley, and Las Tóxicas get in some cheap shots behind the ref’s back. Hiedra and Maravilla enter the ring for a double spinebuster, they make a wish with Lola’s legs, and Flammer hits a running meteora for a 2-count.
Lola tries to fight back, Flammer with a forearm smash, knocks Bayley and Catalina off the apron, that gives Hiedra and Maravilla a chance for more cheap shots to Vice on the floor, then the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion takes down the NXT Women’s Champion with a clothesline, and does an arrogant cover for a 2-count. Flammer locks in a reverse full nelson with a body scissors in the middle of the ring, Lola kicks her in the head to escape, and throws her out the ring. Maravilla tags in, knocks Catalina off the apron, but Lola crawls through her legs to make the hot tag!
Bayley clotheslines all three women, back suplex to Flammer, back elbow and armdrag to La Hiedra, tosses Maravilla onto the apron for the stunner in the ropes, drags her into position, goes up top, hits the diving elbow drop, and covers for a 2-count! Maravilla blocks the Bayley to Belly by grabbing her hair and pushing her to her corner to tag out. Flammer tags in, Hiedra and Maravilla trip Bayley and pull her into the ringpost crotch-first, and Flammer hits a basement dropkick! Hiedra throws Bayley back into the ring, Flammer makes the cover, Catalina breaks up the count, and Flammer gets in her face with their feud starting to heat up. Flammer taunts Catalina, Bayley surprises her with an inside cradle, gets a 2-count, hits the running knee, and makes the tag.
Catalina goes up top, hits the diving moonsault, Hiedra breaks up the count at 1, Maravilla and Hiedra battle Bayley and Lola, Hiedra pulls Lola out the ring, and Lola drops her with the BACKFIST! Maravilla knocks Lola off the apron with a European uppercut, and Bayley plants Maravilla with the Bayley to Belly! Flammer dropkicks Bayley out the ring, Catalina rolls Flammer up in the O’Connor roll for 1, Catalina side-steps her in the ropes, superkicks her, hits the hip attack in the ropes, connects with the running single knee, and CATALINA COVERS THE CHAMPION FOR 3!! WINNERS: LA CATALINA, LOLA VICE & BAYLEY!!
La Catalina has to be the next in line for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship in the near-future, but for now she gets to celebrate her big victory with Bayley and Lola Vice. That’s all for AAA Noche de Los Grandes!
