Here’s an injury update from NJPW wrestler Francesco Akira: “Until May, things were going incredibly well, and I came so close to reaching the BOSJ finals. But then I fractured my wrist, and everything came to a halt. I know injuries are part of being a pro wrestler. But this was the biggest injury of my career, and I don’t think I was mentally prepared for it. Now, my mindset is positive, and my wrist is feeling much better. I still don’t know when my return will be, but I promise you one thing. Next year, I’ll fight with everything I’ve got. I will make up for every lost day. 100% won’t be enough. I’ll give 200% and achieve my goals no matter what! Thank you so much for all your support this year. See you again next year!”

William Regal is warning wrestlers to take being dropped on their head seriously. It seems obvious but given how many people have taken sick bumps lately (including Bron Breakker) it might not be obvious enough to avoid taking moves where you could break your neck or wind up paralyzed for life. Piper Niven agreed with him in response.

Mick Foley debunks that he’s mad at WWE for using footage of him: “I found out that an Instagram site called It’s Wrestling Lover is putting out a completely fabricated story about me being furious with WWE for using my wrestling footage. First of all, it’s their footage. They can do whatever they want with it. Secondly, I’m proud of the footage. I love everything I did when I was part of the company, and I like being seen. So, please retract this statement. Admit it’s false. Do the right thing and have a nice day!”

Tetsuya Naito is disappointed to not be Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final opponent: “I’ve always had that feeling. It was my job to end the era of Hiroshi Tanahashi, but in the end, I wasn’t the opponent in Tanahashi’s retirement match, so I’m very disappointed that I wasn’t able to make that happen.”
