TNA Wrestling Stars Continue The Chicago Sports Road To Lockdown As TNA Partners With Chicago Sky and Schaumburg Boomers
TNA Wrestling today announced two new cross-promotions with sports teams in the Chicagoland area as TNA builds to Lockdown – a showcase event in which every match is contested inside a steel cage – on Sunday, August 23, at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago.
SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS
Mustafa Ali will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch before the Boomers home game against the Windy City Thunderbolts at Wintrust Field in Schaumburg on Thursday, August 20. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, Ali will participate in multiple in-game promotions, including TRIVIA and BUCKET SHUFFLE.
CHICAGO SKY
Mustafa Ali, Matthew Rehwoldt and Elayna Black will be at the Sky home WNBA game against the Golden State Valkyries at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Friday, August 21. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. and the team will be celebrating its mascot on Skye the Lioness Birthday.
One of the highlights of the Sky game that night will be Elayna Black serving as the team’s Honorary Co-Captain; she will join the pre-game captains’ meeting with the referees and more.
LOCKDOWN
One of professional wrestling’s most iconic and feared events is Lockdown, with every match contested inside a steel cage. TNA Wrestling presents Lockdown on Sunday, August 23, broadcasting live around the world on pay-per-view from Credit Union 1 Arena in downtown Chicago.
The 2026 Lockdown is TNA’s first Lockdown since 2016.
Confirmed to appear at Lockdown are Jeff & Matt Hardy (The Hardys), Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Moose, AJ Francis, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Leon Slater, KC Navarro and Ricky Sosa, among others. The TNA Knockouts Division also will be featured prominently, with Xia Blackwell, Indi Hartwell, Jada Stone and others.
TNA Wrestling debuted Lockdown in 2005, making it the first pro wrestling pay-per-view in which every match was contested inside a steel cage.
