Ian’s Not Actually Tag Team Tournament Final Dynamite Recap

AEW

Tonight, FTR face Brodido for the right to challenge The Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door (Disregard this, I found out near the end of the show that it’s actually next week)! And hopefully we get some other matches for the show, because it’s only a week and a half away!

Dynamite opens with MJF hitting the ring, followed by Hangman. They’ve promised no physicality, with a six-figure fine if they violate it.

MJF talks about how they’re not only two day 1 guys, they’re the main character and the man cast as the main villain. He says he knows that Hangman is vulnerable when he’s angry. Hangman calls out MJF’s repetitive routine, and reminds MJF that he doesn’t actually have a shot at the title. MJF says good and bad are subjective, and Hangman is actually the problem, because he’s never held accountable. He says he’d rather be the devil than a false God. Hangman says he’ll never deny his flaws, and reminds him again that he doesn’t have a shot unless he cashes in his contract, which he won’t, because he can’t give up his insurance policy. MJF takes the bait and says he’ll execute the contract.

Outside the arena, Jon Moxley rejects Darby Allin’s challenge.

After a commercial, Renee introduces Swerve. She asks if he’s injured, he says wrestlers have to push through. Okada comes out and says Swerve has no chance with a knee injury. He tells Swerve to back out, to which Swerve responds by asking the audience whose house it is. Okada calls him a bitch, so Swerve responds with a shove, before security pulls them apart.
