Darby Allin

In a media call ahead of Double or Nothing, Tony Khan talked about how proud he is of Darby Allin climbing Mount Everest: “Darby Allin is one the greatest wrestlers in AEW and we’re so proud of what he’s accomplished. He did it, he successfully climbed Mount Everest. It was something that was a big goal of his. He went on this journey with, I think two goals in mind. One of his goals, he absolutely had to focus on as he ascended Mount Everest is this journey he was going on and becoming the first pro wrestler to ever climb Mount Everest and one of the first pro athletes. It’s something he should celebrate and it’s an absolutely incredible achievement. I love Darby Allin and I think he’s a great person. He’s somebody who loves AEW, the fans love Darby, and he’s a huge part of our locker room. I hope he’ll come back here and I hope he makes it down Mount Everest as safe as he made it up. I look forward to seeing him back here. Whenever Darby can make it back, we’re excited to have him back. He’s one our top stars and I look forward to seeing Darby again.”

In a rather stunning turn of events WrestleMania won’t be in New Orleans next year. (FF) In fact The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation released a statement: “The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.” Right now Las Vegas is rumored to be the frontrunner to get it instead.

Ace Austin’s contract with TNA has expired and the two sides parted ways on “amicable terms” with no word on where he’s headed next. (PWI)

Rossy Ogawa talks about his dreams for Marigold: “We’ve been looking for a dojo for a year, but it’s been difficult because we have to overcome a lot of issues, like noise issues, plumbing, and low ceilings. The place we just looked at is a little far away, but it’s spacious, and I hope we can settle on this one. The matches are getting better, but we just want to do a little more. We bought a ring truck and a microbus. We can’t fit all the wrestlers, but we are not an organization that can buy a big bus yet.”

WWE’s Greatest Moments on A&E last Sunday did a 0.02 and 90K viewers for the DX episode and a 0.04 18-49 with 117K viewers for MITB. WWE LFG did 0.03 & 151,000. (PI)

Speaking of ratings, Dynamite on Wednesday did 575,000 viewers, down from 682,000 the week before. The 18-49 demo was 0.15, down from 0.16. (Wrestlenomics)

Here Jordynne Grace talks about her physique: “Oh my God. There are so many people in there and you know what’s funny? I never really felt that small on the independent scene. Everybody was, you know, not gigantic but I went to WWE and if I’m in a group of people and we’re walking somewhere, I’m the smallest one. These people are gigantic.”

Natalya talks about what happened to Zoey Stark: “It sucks. It sucks that it happened. I felt terrible because I was backstage when it happened. We had just had our match. Everybody was excited and there was a lot of commotion and I know Zoey – any time Zoey gets to perform, especially on Raw, she takes it very seriously. She’s a student of the game. She loves this and she takes it very seriously. She pours her heart into it so I think the second she found out that she was gonna have this match, the wheels were already spinning in her head about how do I make this match stand out? How do I make it special? How do I make it amazing? The group that she was in, they’re no longer there so she was probably thinking like, I just – it’s like all of us. We just want to be our best. We put the most pressure on ourselves. I know I do. I’m the one that puts more pressure on myself than anyone but I think with Zoey, she’s a total pro. She has very high standards for herself. So I think she wanted to do a lot in this match to really remind everybody of who she is because she is an incredible wrestler.”

Here’s a new interview with Nick Wayne and one with Mick Foley.
