Tonight is the final Dynamite before Double or Nothing! We’ll see the finishing touches being put on the card, including the Anarchy in the Arena Match. The finalists of the Owen Hart Cup Tournaments will also get their last chances to one-up each other before they attempt to earn a title shot in Texas, Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm will renew their rivalry, and we’ll see MJF put pen to paper to become part of the Hurt Syndicate! Allegedly!
Tony Schiavone opens the show by welcoming Hangman to the ring, then Ospreay. Ospreay says he understands the security, but he isn’t going to get physical. He asks Hangman if he plans to get physical, and when Hangman says no, he dismisses security. He asks Hangman if he still drinks, then apologizes for elbowing him last week. He then offers Hangman a toast with a pair of cold ones. Hangman accepts the beer, not not the toast. Ospreay says he’s officially petitioning Tony Khan and the board to have their match be the main event. He says some people might think it’s crazy to want to follow Anarchy in the Arena, but those people don’t understand what’s at stake. He says not only does the winner get a title shot, he gets the opportunity to bring the championship back from the Death Riders. He talks about the weekly commute from England, and says all the negative effects go away once he puts on his gear.
Hangman says that the difference between the two of them is that this is professional for Ospreay, but it’s personal for Hangman, because he needs this title shot. He says he’s wasted two years of his life being miserable, but he needs this for everyone who supported him, and who have found it harder to do so. He says he needs to prove that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Ospreay asks if Hangman is going to do what he did to Christopher Daniels and Swerve to win. He says he’s not going to go down that path, because he’s done it before and it took too much to come back. Hangman asks if he thinks that’s going to be enough to beat Jon Moxley. Ospreay says he doesn’t know, but if the Hangman who beat Jon Moxley shows up on Sunday, then Ospreay will know that, if he can beat Hangman, he can beat Moxley. He says the Hangman who came out of his feud with Swerve has lost the respect of the people. He calls himself the best in the fucking world, but he says that he knows anything can happen when the bell rings, so if it should happen to be Hangman, he’ll be happy for him, and he’ll have his back. He says he hopes for the same. He says he’s calling out Hangman for a shootout, then he downs his beer. Hangman does the same, and they stare each other down, then walk to the back together, still staring each other down, stopping by the cup on the stage.
Backstage, Jon Moxley heads toward the ring, saying that victory will go to those who embrace the anarchy.
