TIJUANA, MEXICO (September 19, 2026) – BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, the world’s largest professional bare knuckle boxing organization, made history with BKB 59, bringing its high-octane brand of bareknuckle boxing to Mexico for the first time, in partnership with Zanfer Boxing. Held at the Auditorio Municipal, the action-packed night was headlined by two thrilling world championship bouts.
In the main event Tijuana’s very own Julian “El Guerrero Mexicano” Fernandez showed the mettle of a true world champion as he survived an early knockdown to knock out former three-division champion Dan “Big Pod” Podmore in the second round to remain undefeated and retain the BKB Super Cruiserweight World Championship. Fernandez was dropped with a well-placed counter left hook in the first round, but battled back to score a knockdown of his own later on in the round. In the second round, Fernandez put the finishing touches with a combination that knocked Podmore out.
In the co-main event, Mexico’s own Cecy Ulloa punched her way to championship gold, stopping Andy “The CrAsian” Nguyen in the third round to capture the BKB Super Flyweight World Championship. Ulloa, who hails from Puerto Vallarta, had the Tijuana crowd firmly behind her as she outboxed Nguyen for three rounds. Nguyen was unable to continue after the third round, resulting in a TKO win for Mexico’s newest BKB World Champion.
Super middleweights Romario “Little Boy” Ovalle and Marco Chino “Gallito de Oro” Villa put on an entertaining war, but their bout ended in a No Contest after an accidental headbutt in the third round. Ovalle and Villa traded knockdowns in the first two rounds, but an accidental headbutt left Ovalle unable to continue, resulting in the referee calling for the fight to be stopped.
In a cruiserweight contest, Pablo Felipe “Inmortal” Anguiano needed just 41 seconds to take care of business against Ricardo Ramses “Black Tiger” Rueda. A body shot combination from Anguiano put Rueda down for the count in just the opening round.
It took “El Tigre” Adrian Gonzalez less than one round to win in his bareknuckle boxing debut, defeating Javier Santiago “Torochi” Valverde by TKO in the first round. An early cut didn’t slow Gonzales down as he overwhelmed Valverde with a solid jab and shots to the body to get the dominant win in their lightweight battle.
Felipe Abraham Huerta survived an early knockdown to defeat Erick Eduardo “Bazooka” Soria by third round stoppage in a battle of debuting lightweights. Huerta was knocked down in the opening seconds of the bout, but rallied back to batter Soria en route to a TKO victory.
Jonathan “El Bebe” Duran kicked off the main card and his bareknuckle boxing career with an impressive second round knockout over Kevin Millan Sanchez. The two heavyweight sluggers were throwing hard early, but in the end it was Duran who stood tall with a brutal stoppage win.
