CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA (AUGUST 7, 2026) – It was an action-packed night of fights at the Bojangles Coliseum as PFL Charlotte showcased some of the best mixed martial artists in the world just a few days removed from last week’s massive news of the MVP and PFL merger.
In headlining bout of the night, Charlotte’s very own #8Bryan “The Butcher” Battle (13-3) sent the crowd at the Bojangles Coliseum home happy with a split decision win over #4Dalton “Hercules” Rosta (11-4). Battle put the pressure on to outpoint the top-five contender and pick up his first win in the PFL.
In the co-main event, #6Simeon “Smooth” Powell (13-2) put on a strong performance, outworking #2Dovlet “Wolfhound” Yagshimuradov (26-9-1) to pick up the split decision win. Powell was one step ahead of the former PFL Light Heavyweight Champion throughout all three rounds to secure the victory and position himself a step closer title contention.
No. 7 Aaron Jeffery (17-6) was dominant from bell to bell as he battered #6 Josh “Coninha” Silveira (15-6) for three rounds en route to a unanimous decision win. Jeffrey was the aggressor all throughout the fight as he punished Silveira with strikes, and came close to getting a finish a number of times before ultimately going to the judges scorecards.
Former PFL Europe Bantamweight Champion Lewis “The McGrizzla” McGrillen (13-2) emerged victorious from a brutal three-round war against Brandon Lewis (7-4), winning by unanimous decision. In a bout that had the Charlotte fans on their feet, McGrillen and Lewis hit each other with their best shots, trading strikes and takedowns. In the end, it was McGrillen leaving with his hand raised.
In the main card opener, #9Josh Fremd (13-6) bucked a slow start and knocked out #10Jhony Gregory (11-5) in the second round. Gregory started out strong, but began to lose steam, opening the door for Fremd to mount a comeback. Fremd landed a brutal combination of punches in the second round to put the gassed-out Gregory away for good.
