BKB 48: Browne Stopped in 60 Seconds & Malignaggi Called Out

Miami, FL (November 23, 2025) – Undefeated knockout machine Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo (8-0, 8 KOs) successfully defended his BKB Heavyweight World Title with a sensational first-round demolition of former WBA Regular Heavyweight Boxing Champion Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne (31-7, 27 KOs boxing; 1-1 BKB) in just 63 seconds in the main event of BKB 48: Night of Four Kings on November 22 in South Florida.

The 32-year-old Trujillo, a Miami native by way of Cuba, kept his perfect record of first-round finishes intact, extending his reign of terror with eight consecutive opening-round knockouts – a list that now includes former champions Lorenzo Hunt, Ike Villanueva, Richie Leak, and now Lucas Browne. The Australian Browne, a battle-tested warrior who has shared the ring with boxing titans Dillian Whyte, Jarrell Miller, and James Toney, and who owns a 6-2 MMA record including a bout against UFC legend Daniel Cormier, suffered the first knockout loss of his bare-knuckle career after entering the Trigon with dreams of becoming the first man to hold world titles in both professional boxing and bare knuckle.

Lucas Browne said: “Could be worse. There is no excuse in any way. I had a pulled calf. But that got me in my head so much more. I couldn’t get motivated or charged. I didn’t feel like I did for the last BKB fight. It is what it is. Such is life. I’ve now fought for an MMA world title against Daniel Cormier. I’ve fought and won a boxing world title. And I’ve now fought for a BKB Bare Knuckle World Title. I’m the only person I know of in the world that’s done all three – an Australian heavyweight that is still getting it done at 46 years old. There’s not long left to go – but we’re still going. Thank you everyone for the support. We’ll be back.”

In the co-main event, 27-year-old BKB Cruiserweight Champion Cub Hawkins solidified his status as one of the sport’s elite pound-for-pound fighters by stopping the legendary “Welsh Wrecking Machine” Barrie Jones (11-2) with a first-round knockout to capture Jones’ BKB Light Heavyweight championship. Stepping in on short notice to replace the injured LT Nelson, Hawkins (9-2) became BKB’s third double champion – joining Nelson and Croatia’s Marko Martinjak – and the youngest in the promotion’s history. Post fight, Cub called for a blockbuster bout with former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi before facing off with the new bare knuckle fighter.

Cub Hawkins said: “Paulie Malignaggi – if you think you can come in here, win one fight and get granted a world title belt, you’re wrong. You’ve got to come through me first. I will retire you. You don’t have what it takes. You were gifted it.”

Barrie Jones (11-2) by first-round knockout for Jones’ BKB Light Heavyweight championship. Hawkins who took the match on short-notice, replacing the injured LT Nelson, improves to 9-2, joining Nelson and Croatia’s Marko Martinjak as the promotion’s third double champion.

The two other title fights on the card were called no contest, as Champion Jarod Grant and Jon Barnard’s Lightweight match-up was stopped due to an eye poke, while the much anticipated and highly contentious Jullian Fernandez-Yordan Fuentes match for the vacant BKB Super Cruiserweight title was stopped due to punch to the back of the head.

Former BKB Heavyweight Champion Ike Villanueva defeated Jarome Hatch in a Bridgerweight eliminator match, setting up a date with new champion Marko Martinjak. Wales‘ Ash Williams stays undefeated with a highlight reel second-round knockout over Jorge Bargallo in an eliminator to face top-ranked Yampier Ramirez for the vacant BKB Featherweight championship.

Brandon Shavers opened eyes with a dominating second round TKO in his bare knuckle debut against former European gloved champion Dan Catlin.

In the evening’s preliminary matchups, Kat Connor improves to 2-0 with a unanimous decision over Angel Keihl; and Nate Williams picks up his first W in the Trigon with a first round TKO over Trey Howard.

BKB returns to action Friday, December 4 in Cardiff, Wales, UK with BKB 49: Dance of the Dragons headlined by Liam Rees defending his BKB Super Welterweight championship against number one contender Rolando Dy.
